More 1/6 guys get out of their cardboard tomb! (New photos)

This is by no means all of them... Or even most of them... However:

Image
My synthetic human hanging out with his pet - he's supposed to be a more explicitly androidy body for JARVIS (I do own Hot Toys Vision, but hate that Whedon killed off JARVIS to make him, and the lack of emotional ramifications!)

Image
Quick and dirty height comparison line-up.

Image
...As you can see the synthetic human fits in better with the cartoony 1/6 guys than the hyper-realistic Hot Toys... I think I need to give him a bit of a repaint much as it pains me to say it given how expensive these essentially basic base-bodies are!

Image
Tony and JARVIS hanging out.

And a few mugshots:
Image
My preferred movie-verse version of Quicksilver... (I strongly dislike MCU Pietro and Wanda but like the original characters)
Image

Image
Finally added a Black Widow to the collection - most of my Hot Toys guys revolve around Tony Stark... So I've got Pepper, Maria Hill and several armours but not many main MCU characters!

Image
The synthetic human with his mask off.

Image
Iron Man Gamma (I've got several mks... Despite my strong dislike of the toy-advert that is Iron Man 3... So there's Silver Centurion, Shotgun, Tank, Sneaky, the mkIV, mkV, mkVI, mkxlv... not to mention the pre-orders... well you get the idea. I'm not a completist but I do tend to pick up the designs that catch my eye!)

Image
Ultron - again Not the MCU-version (hate that Stark got the blame for Ultron in the MCU, especially when a strong argument could be made that Ultron is Wanda's mind-rapey fault...)

Image
(Ultron is Hank Pym's fault dammit!)

Image
WIP Jessica Jones custom - need to get her outfit together, she's on a Black Widow Winter Soldier body there, annoyingly proportion-wise Hot Toys have since imprved the base-Black Widow body immensely, so she'd probably look a lot better on the more recent Civil War body (above) but meh replacing it would be an expensive endeavour!

Image
...And a literal mugshot... The Michael C Hall head is eventually going to be used for a Thomas Newton kitbash - complete with the rather tragic rocket mural if anyone else has seen Lazarus... Terribly I've also got a couple of Bowie headsculpts due to show up - one of which will become Thomas Jerome Newton from the film...

...Whilst I've gotten better at face-ups I'm dreading painting this guy up, but still don't know enough people in the action figure hobby to know who to trust for this sort of thing - understandably custom paintjobs can cost even more than BJD ones given that they run to hyperrealistic and include eyes and skin-tone texturing!

Ahem right sorry - hope this photo-dump wasn't too boring!

Ahhh, this is really cool. I love your android Jarvis and his little pet is so cute. Also your Jessica Jones custom looks like she'll be awesome

(Also Bowie headsculpts? I am intrigued [mostly because I'd like to make a Jareth but eh])

Seconding that Bowie comment, I wonder how he would look on the Jarvis body?

Yup this version of Quicksilver is cooler with his own musical action sequence. Looks like you got something plan up.

Hee - oh lol I just noticed the typo! Thanks everyone! Glad this little post wasn't too dull!

werepuppy: Thanks! I do love kitbashing/custom work - gods I wish 1/6 scale animals were easier to get ahold of, Tony would have a veritable menagerie -"Bernard Stark" really would be the least of it! Actually JARVIS is currently midway through the promised touch-ups/repaint (yay for hormone induced insomnia *sarcasm*) so as soon as it gets warm enough to risk sealant I'll be getting onto the detail work.

Edit: Here's some WIP pictures... I think it confirms that this guy just felt unfinished to me - all I've done so far is lay down blocks of base colour and it's already looking about the same finish-wise as the original colour layout did!

werepuppy/zirconmermaid: As for Bowie - I'm afraid I'm not actually sure when the heads will turn up. It's a group order thing - I've seen photos of the printed headsculpts and they look fantastic, but I'm afraid I didn't think to save the photos that were posted and they're deadlinks now. As for the two headsculpts - one of them is has sculpted hair, the other bald - specifically for hairing.

The hairsculpt/facial features - by popular vote is Bowie's Thin White Duke era hairstyle/lack of wrinkles. The bald sculpt looks a little odd since real hair on these guys is a little different to the standard rooting we get on hollow vinyl heads. From the looks of it I'll either be attempting to find an appropriate solid hair cap (good ones are rare as hens teeth so unlikley) or glueing hair directly onto the head (daunting). It's going to be a bit of a learning curve! I still haven't decided what era of Bowie to go for with the second head... Um much as I adore the Labyrinth I've got both of the 8" Neca Figures from back in the day so I think a different era is going to get the nod! In a ridiculous way I'm leaning towards some of his more sinister 90s era looks... The Hunger TV series anyone? Or maybe his more evil looking version of the Goblin King with spikey orange and blue hair complete with evil-twin goatee!

I'll try to remember to post photos of the Bowie heads when they eventually turn up! Um... In terms of getting your hands on one - the pre-order thread is on SideshowCollectors/ the Sideshow Freaks forum (an unpleasantly... toxic-masculinity dominated place I've got to say), I can't really vouch one way or the other for the organiser, but the sculptor involved is well respected and everything seems above board.

Dark Angel: Yeah I adore that Quicksilver figure - I took a bit of a gamble on his pre-order but it paid off in spectacular fashion, he's from a relatively new company SoosooToys - and actually considering he came as you see out of the box, he was a relative steal at £139 - when you compare to Hot Toys current pricings that is... And actually in some respects the company took more care over this guy than Hot Toys have been putting into most of their non-Iron Man figures for years. (I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to be picking up an MCU Wanda to display with him - despite my hatred for MCU's take on the character!)

Iwa_Hoshi: Lol - yeah X-movieverse Quicksilver is infinitely better than his MCU counterpart (and don't even get me started on what they did to Wanda...) and that's even with the (incredibly fun but I can see why some fans were annoyed) ridiculousness he ended up with!

...Well as for plans - if I ever manage to work out a sacrifice that allows me to *gulp* gain display-space for bookshelf space my 1/6 set-up is going to be a ridiculous mix of the standard "museum poses" in cabinets... And essentially a mini fun-room where they all sit around having improbable parties, breaking the fourth wall and having crossovers that should be impossible.

Hee - yeah Quicksilver is incredibly fun.

Some more random figures out of the 1/6 horde...

Image
Image
Bucky semi-cosplaying as Jefferson from a certain cheese-tastic Disney-based show we all know. (Or rather showing my magpie tendencies wrt 1/6 figures... That body + outfit was the side-effect of buying a set for a particular item - but the Bucky head seems to have claimed it for now)

Um these are my WIP customised Pullip group - a mixture of cheapo fullset figures that no one else wanted and a MIO Dal. (And yea the photos are shocking...)

Image
(Sunbathing on the car bonnet)

Adore these guys and their oversized heads - though of course that means they can't pose worth a d***!

Image
WIP custom Taeyang Hook - beyond his eye colour I really haven't decided what I want to do with this guy, hence still carting around his awful stock wig.

Image
...And my terrible photography rears it's ugly head - the Dal has absolutely insane eyelashes, and they're barely showing despite their ridiculous sparkliness
