I dyed a doll and made doll size carmel apples.
I finally got around to trying the Rits dye for plastics.

Wow! Really looks like a stable!!! Great scene and great props!!!
How long did it take for the Rit dye to 'stain' the doll? Does it come off at all or is it sealed in?

Thanks SetsunaKou. Rit dye for synthetic did a great job on the Skipper head and her upper body. No the dye does not come off and you don't have to seal it.
However the legs on this body would not take the dye at all. No matter how long I keep it in the dye. The body was from Mattel "Ginny" in the Harry Potter series. I ended up painting her legs. As KD said in the Tip and Trick section you have to keep the body parts in for at least a 1/2 an hour to get the parts to color evenly. This makes the color super dark. The softer plastic you don't need to keep in as long as they will absorb the dye really quickly. The head, hands and arms took to the dye so I didn't have to keep them in very long.

DollyKim, I don't think you are going to have to wait long. LOL

I'm just remembering all the apple juice that dripped out of our pony's mouth when she had an apple.
I've got to bite the bullet and try dying a doll.
