This appeared on ShopDisneyUK recently and of course I had to pick it up, Shuri is the best princess. According to the listing, it may be the first in a series of Marvel dolls, and ... Okay, not going to lie? Going by Shuri alone, this may not be a bad thing. Will just need to wait and see how that pans out - I was pretty hopeful they might make more of the premium figure range they did for Star Wars and that didn't turn out to anything. (I really wanted them to make a Finn in that range...)

So, a bit about the best princess and smartest person in the MCU. She's about 10 inches tall, and has the standard Disney doll body. Hair is really gorgeous and not really something that can be taken down or redone. Well, unless you happen to be talented at the whole hair thing. Her clothing feels like pleather, if I'm honest, which makes me wonder how well it'll age... She can stand unassisted, as you can see. Also, best thing?

Her bodysuit has an actual ZIP in in, and not just velcro! (Yes, the overskirt uses velcro, but y'know what? I can forgive that when they clearly put in a little more effort elsewhere.) Hair at the back is just painted detail, not molded, but it still looks really nice.

While I didn't show it, her chest is ... pretty flat. Like, seriously, it seems more like it had been molded for a younger child than a girl of Shuri's age. Now, this does help to make the doll look more like it should in the suit, and thus better fitting, but just felt like it warranted mentioning.

Oh! Her legs are the kind with the internal snap, so be careful, as we know how easily those ones can break. I couldn't get a clear enough picture but there is some tattoo/henna work on her left hand that is just an applied transfer. (The gauntlets slide off pretty easily, it's getting them back on and keeping her hands straight that is the trick.)

Big question: can Shuri be re-dressed? Answer? Yes and no.While her body suit and gauntlets can come off, the ceremonial neck piece - I cannot recall the actual name of it atm - cannot. There's just no way to do it save slicing the thing off but then you wouldn't be able to put it back on. A shame really, I found this Barbie outfit and it might be a little big but it's really something I could see Shuri wearing.

So yeah. A really quick overview, really. Price point has her - at the moment - the same price as the Mary Poppins Returns doll available from the Disney Store, so that's £30/$39.95. Personally, I would say yeah, spend the money and get her because she's gorgeous, as you can clearly see.

Now, where did I put my 12 inch T'Challa Marvel Legend figure... Someone needs to go tease their big brother...

You might be able to get the neck piece off by removing her head, assuming it's made of vinyl like most dolls. Stick her in a plastic sandwich type baggie and stick her in some hot water for a minute or two, then try tugging it off (use a towel to protect your hand if it's super hot). If it's not Scott enough, stick her back in the hot water. Most doll heads, even super hard vinyl ones, can eventually be removed like this.

Going to need one of those if they show up this side of the pond.

Oh, that is an idea! I don't think I'm likely to redress her - I do quite like her stock look and it gives her a unique look within my collection - but it is something to bear in mind!
