Freaky Frieda pulls herself together

Postby DollyKim » Sat Oct 23, 2010 4:19 pm

Freaky Frieda the Quadrophenic Blythe, each eye color will be a different aspect of her personality with a different fashion style. Many thanks to Valli, when the chips arrive she'll be able to swap out her orange eyes, when they arrive, for targets so she can be a Mod/Pop Art Wholigan.

This is her first wig from Goodyblythe on Ebay (they're on Etsy too and have plenty of these and a strait version), stuffed with paper because she doesn't have a scalp or a head dome yet.

Not sure if she'll get another wig yet. I would have liked the pink to be a bit more visible but she has some yellow around her eyes so I'm thinking I might not do anything but darken her lips to be closer to her pink eye chip and paint her eye lids. Starting to think blue and green on them to work with the yellow. I see a lot of bright solid colors in her future.

All she really really needs now are her eyes to come in. She's on the same body as my Teen Skippers for now, somewhere a Toy Story Jess came in and I found her in a drawer and her lighter skin tone matches. Got out a pleather hat the SDs usually wear, some granny glasses I got in a trade, and a Modish looking Zodiac Girl outfit to wear for now. I'm going to get in to the Everyday clothes of the 60s book and some other research I did for a Mod/Pop Art comic I started for some clothing ideas then start on patterns soon.

I ordered a dome and scalp from CoolCat so there will eventually be a top to her head. The thing is I have to stop myself from ordering more stuff, especially a "dumb seller are you sure it'll fit because the last one didn't" wig. Although a black one with different colored streaks wouldn't be out of the question.

The chips from Valli are just a wee bit too big to fit in the holes, is it a difference between types of Blythes?

I painted the sockets. The only bummer is the pink chips are really pale and miss matched, but after the heat boo boo with the one orange one I don't feel like messing with them. She did loose her eyelashes so I'll search for replacements with Halloween being here.

Gonna do some serious designing and sewing soon. The pink comes from Moxie girl hair packs.

Eyelash problem solved!

I love her eyelashes. So great that you found some to match her hair :)

A note on similar eyelashes to mine, at least in black, saw some at the 99 Cent store. Grab with tweezers, dip the ends in white glue, stick them in.
