Ghoulia...

Welp, I finally bought a Ghoulia mostly because of her character in the webisodes. But eh, the doll I was really (and still kind of) not very sold on the doll because wheras the Toon!Ghoulia is like a moe huggable woobie character, this doll looks like a fierce, sassy fashionista who looks sort of out of place in that outfit.

But look at how cute sir Hoots A Lot is.

One thing I truly, utterly and completely loathe about Ghoulia's sculpt is her ears are much higher than her eyes so I could NEVER get ANY glasses to fit on her head properly. I tried Bratz, Liv and Moxie but no. Not even her stock glasses sit properly.

So yeah, Ghoulia's not even the nerdy huggable thing she should be.

The surprising thing about Ghoulia's face is that it's the opposite of Lagoona's round bulgy face. It's angular, sunken it and it really reminds me of a corpse head.

I really wanted to give Ghoulia some Licca eyes but her eye wells were too pointy so I went with some Momoko eyes. Maybe Frankie will get licca eyes.

Also I tried giving her grey lips but it really creeped me out so she got smaller, pink lips.

I fully intended to leave her hair as is but god I LOATHE kanekalon. Her hair kept getting tangled, and falling out in chunks and just urgh. Which is a huge shame since I like her hair style it's just the crappy gorilla suit fibre really bugs me.

Also Sir Hoots A Lot.

I think your take on Ghoulia looks a lot more like the one in the webtoons, actually--I will almost definitely repaint her when I get one (My wife is in love with this character XD ).

Good job on the face up. I'm kinda on the fence with getting a MH doll as I don't have anything in that scale, but I do like Ghoulia even if her doll looks sooo out of character...

Because they're monsters they don't have to fit in to a certain scale. If you like her get her, she's not as out there as the other dolls so you might have to check a couple of stores. Aside from the hands and arms popping off easily, which is by design, I have no real problems with them.

And I've never seen the toons or read their diaries yet as I kind of renamed and thought about working out slightly original characters for mine.

she shows up occasionally when the store doesn't feel like doing all Hydes and Frankies....

Thanks everyone! The only real disappointment was the hair because I really wanted a Ghoulia with her stock hairstyle but the quality was really bad :/

DollyKim, I think they fixed that flaw since it took FOREVER to pop Ghoulia's hands back in and a bit of force is needed to actually remove the arms due to a tiny ball at the end.

I don't even usually collect big headed dolls but there's a certain charm about Monster High that I've seen a lot of different collectors ranging from Pullip to Blythes to Bratz to even Transformers. I can already see myself debating whether to buy Frankie or Draculaura next....

I love your restyled Ghoulia! I really haven't fooled with mine that much. I just put her on the MH shelf with the other girls. XD I have a Clawdeen Gloom Beach that I touched up and rebodied. I need to take some pics and post her. I used metallic copper paint for her eyes so they're quite....striking. :p

I love the faceup you gave her, it looks really nice!
I'm curious though, how [i]do[i] you remove the limbs and such? I bought Cloe and wanted to do some modifications, but it really seems...difficult to get the joints apart and now I'm afraid of hurting her...
