Meet Abby! My friend's Hujoo baby Suve. I did her face-up this past weekend. Oh em gee, they're so tiny! And I gotta say, I love the feel of the ABS plastics. That little darling is the reason I'm so hellbent on getting a Jake.... But I can't afford him til I finish paying off my layaway... -facepalm- Unless I can make $40 on stuff.... Hmm.... -ponders-

She's so adorable! I'm envious of how well you did her eyebrows and lashes. I just (finally) finished my first face-up on my Customhouse tiny, and the agony of trying to paint tiny hairs is still fresh in my mind...

A question: what is ABS like? I'm really interested in a Hujoo now (thanks to this place, lol) and I was wondering how it differs from resin. :D

Personally, I don't think it feels all that different from resin. A little more fragile, and definitely lighter, but that could just be because the babies are so small, and I'm used to handling MSD and SD dolls. It's not quite as smooth, but has that same warmth that resin gets when you handle it.

For that face-up, Abby is intended to be a nekomimi, so I tried to give her eyes a sort of feline slant. I may still go in and darken them a bit, but the photo doesn't do it justice. There's blushing around her eyes and over her nose, and thus the freckles, that give her a bit more life, but my camera decided it wanted to give everything a bluish cast, even though it was late afternoon.

Love your face up! And the matching wig is totally cute! <3
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

Oooh, I can totally see the kitty in her face! What a great idea. x3 It's a really nice face-up, even if your camera did end up eating it. ^^; You can still see how delicate the freckles are too. <3

Thanks for the comparison. I really like how my only doll feels, so I'm glad to know ABS is kinda similar. I was kind of worried it'd feel too slick or something (or like cheap plastic). o.O;

Definitely not like cheap plastic! I wish I could think of a common household item that I could compare to, but I'm coming up blank. I've only handled the Suve, which as I said, is teeny tiny (and soooo adorable... seriously... go to junkyspot right now and buy one) I guess it's.... almost like a half-way point between the plastic/vinyl that the 1/6 obitsu are made of, and the resin dolls? ^_^;

@almy: haha, actually the face-up matches the wig! I was given an adorable wee lil dollieh and the wig and told "MAKE THEM MATCH! WITH FRECKLES!" So I did! XD She also has some very very light blushing on her body, on her lil baby pudge belly and her tush.

She´s adorable :-) All hard parts on obitsu bodies are made of ABS so it´s very similiar to that . When I got my hujoo I worried that that the plastic could be too soft but it´s very sturdy and easy to customize and paint. It is even a bit more flexible than resin so it doesn´t crack easily it actualy bends O_o I found out because my hujoo did´t came in a box but in a bag -_- at one part the plastic was a bit squished but with no cracks. PHEW! The baby Hujoos pose quite suprisingĺy well,
it´s not a puki puki x-D but they can strike many cute poses.
