Well I got some extra birthday money so... I decided to splurge a tad. I finally found a Target that sells the Liv sets and so I grabbed the last Alexis one. I also grabbed the last School's Out Sophie and was on my way to doing my own thing.

Then I saw a Barbie Basics box with a huge red sticker on it saying it was only $10 because someone ripped open the box, broke the doll's neck and generally ruined it.

But it had most of the stuff I wanted (aka the head was in semi nice condition) plus, it beats shelling out $40 for a head.

The Harumika is there as a comparison. The weird thing is, the Liv dummy is the same proportions as the Harunkima, it's just flat footed. xD

Lols well... It seems the only solution is to hack up the Harumkia body for it's neck piece and glue it onto the Liv dummy.

The Liv Dummy has no joints below the waist but... It has joints in the upper body. If/when I find another Liv I'll prolly hack off the lower body and transplant it to the doll, painting the lower body white. If it chips I can cover it up better than if I could if it chips in the upper body. So yeah, CRAZY LOGIC IS A GO!

But yeah, too ambitious?

Lols to be honest, I hated this sculpt despite everyone going ZOMG at it. And I probably would not have picked it up if it was soooooooo cheap.

But I did feel drawn to her face paint in the store, I just felt something was completely off about her.

So when I brushed her hair out and such, I found with her hair back she looks really sweet and serene. Haha. So yeah, I'm calling her Betty Lou.

As for why the Liv body? I tried her on the Cy girl body, Barbie bodies and they didn't suit her at all. So, Betty Lou is just a petite mature woman.

Image
Potential Ideas for Display thinger? Lols it was too darn short so I stuck it on my 1/6th coffee table I made from Legos.

Betty Lou is apprehensive.

My Lego coffee table... I... admittedly glued the whole thing together and now it's virtually indestructible. So yeah, it's a bit of a retro item floating around. It's me trying to do my lighting techniques differently. Still experimenting xD

Image
Yeah, I dunno, lol. It's pretty... I dunno.

Image
Lols, admittedly the sculpt looks great on this body, it's just... there's something off about her, to me. Maybe cuz I assigned her a sweet role, she can't act tough xD

But yeah, anyone know a good non ebay place to get relatively cheap cy girl sized bodies?

"Lol, I don't know."

With different colored legs you can always just say they are painted on tights. Or if you want to make the legs match tights could still be the answer. Still she would make a great Robot Unicorn Attack fairy.

14 looks cute on a liv body. But where did you get that purple wig? It looks like yarn but totally fantastic!

Maybe a TTL? They're not *quite* as solid and nice as a CY, but more affordable. Alphas and Evas are too costly for casual experimentation (OK, to me at least) and Otakus are too freaking fragile, though lovely. There's a really basic fem body like the old Soldier Story girls available on eBay, like this one. (safe link)
