Lols after Andrea told me to look in my neck parts box, asides from not having one but rather a box of vaguely-everyday-objects-that-could-be-doll-parts, I found this weird hard plastic rod I remember getting with a pair of (human) shoes and for a lark tested to see if it fitted in the Harumika head. It fitted perfectly, snugly and everything.

So I cut it down to the right length, milliput it and await the day I spray paint it white :D

Considering this was the neck before:

And after:

On the left is a Liv manikin and on the right is the harumika body.

If the Harumika was jointed better I would simply adore it because of the proportions. It's not scary thin like fashion dolls but not as buff as action figures. It's a nice mix.

I just wished the Liv manikin had more joints ;_;

Image
So yeah. My alternate plan was to hack up a liv head and glue the neck area to the Harumika's hollow area to make it compatible with other bodies.

However it's usually hidden by a wig so I'm not really that fussed. However I'm awaiting til day time to cut apart my Liv body to give her legs.

And dressed:

So yeah, lol. Pics of her not naked. I really love her stark skintone against the bright pastels haha.

Hmm, I'm tempted to chop up, joint, and reassemble a Harumika now.

Lols I certainly would love to see that! :D

Anywhos... yeah. I stole 50cm's body for this settling my Liv body balance into whack once again.

So some things I learnt. Livs have this gigantic plastic ball that is connected to their hips. It also becomes very floppy if you remove the upper half of the body which contains a rubbery piece to give it friction.

Turns out the Liv Manikin is a completely different sculpt to the actual body so it doesn't line up properly. But a bit of milliput blending, some white paint and no biggie.

Also now I have a jointed upper half I have idea what to do with. I'm thinking of finding some octopus toy and some milliput....

So yeah, shoved her in Barbie Basics Jeans, a barbie shirt and a wig Andrea made, haha. Woo, it's nice being able to actually play with this doll now xD

Lols yeah, I wanted something to show off her poseability since before my Harumika had three points of movement (neck and shoulders) and yeah. Having an odd bit of fun playing with her.

Now to get around painting her legs white...

Just... yeah. It's kinda oddly being so used to a non posable doll that when you finally get them articulation, it's... different seeing them sit. Woo?

O.o
The dollieh moved!
I know what you mean.
I have a 1/6 hybrid thingy...she keeps evolving, so I haven't posted her yet...it is fun to watch them change, isn't it?

that would be really cool if the harumika company would make jointed manikins. The sculpting on the manikin is really nice.
Cool little hybrid you've got going on there!

Lols I dunno. I got a can of white spray paint and decided to paint the horse's hooves white and Harumika's legs.

Image
Lols with the horse I... kinda cheated and sprayed a layer of white EVERYWHERE since I couldn't totally remove the grey paint haha. I'm desperately searching for rainbow fake fur BUT NO WHERE HAS IT. *cries* I really wanna be done with the horse. So yeah.

But turns out very thin layers of paint is already more durable than being impatient and spraying everything. Lols logic, who knew you'd be helpful.

Image
Lols I masked off the upper half and went crazy on the lower legs. But turns out the Liv dummy was actually greyish, so I made a few light sprays on the upper half (and the milliput neck) to try to even it all out... There's already chipping on the lower leg joints, haha, but I'm surprised how nice and uniform the paint looks on the actual doll. Cuz meh, joints/chips are the easy parts to ignore... at least for me.

Now I wanna try making a Spectra knock off using a swapping fashionista...

Image
Lols I dunno if I should give her a face up or not...

Image
Lols Pose Doll is just waiting for her body to come in the mail...

Harumika is glad to not wear pants...

Image
Slight chipping but not completely devastating...

For the horse's rainbow mane and tail, maybe you will need to do each color separately. For the Liv/Harumika thingy whether you give it a faceup or not depends on if the fairy in Robot Unicorn Attack has a face.

I love how she looks! Doll engineering is so odd. The ball in the Liv body totally wasn't expected. The Harumika has a face I would love to paint. I might have to find some so I can lol.
