impress those 60+cm bullies .... ;-)

Postby theodoric » Sun Jun 19, 2011 9:31 pm

this post is done in fun ... the pics are real, as are the models ... but the little narrative is for FUN only

... are you tired of being pushed around and tormented by those 60+cm bullies
... are you tired of them snickering at you when you draw your 1/6 scale sword, pistol, or rifle
... are you tired of every dog who sees you thinking you are going to be his next chew toy

well ..... show them you can get serious

if your personal weapons dont impress them .... GO BIG ! ! ! !

first up from a personal rifle or machine gun .... (and for those on a limited budget) ... is a quad 20mm anti-aircraft gun mount ... (the gun barrels can be lowered enough to nail those pesky dogs)
Image

if the quad 20's dont stop them ... (and still available on a limited budget) ... is a 37mm anti-tank gun
Image
the above two weapon systems can be purchased here http://www.badcattoys.com/16scmiacfi.html#top

now ... for the bigger dogs ... rottweilers, dobermans, german shepherds and such .... or those pesky 70+cm vampires that can change into bat form and come at you from on high
... get your friends to hop in your Prime Mover, hook up the 88mm anti-aircraft gun and go dog hunting 8-)

Image
Image
... the barrel has 360 traverse and can fire at ground targets as well as anything in the air

the company no longer makes these specific models, though they do make other 1/6 scale tanks http://www.armortek.co.uk/index.html

the 88mm anti-aircraft gun has only one major problem ... it takes a full crew and plenty of time to unhook it and set it up so that it is ready to fire ... and then more time to break it down and rig it for road transport again

that's ok if you have a safe position to operate from

now ... if you dont have a secure position to operate from ... or you need to shoot and scoot in a hurry so that the neighbors dont see who is taking out the local dogs, annoying kids, and any really annoying vampires ... you need mobility!

so you take that 88mm anti-aircraft gun ... and wrap a tank around it

and you have a King Tiger
Image
Image

now ... to be honest, the 88mm might not be enough to stop some dogs ... larger kids ... and the really powerful ancient vampires

that's ok ... you can get even MORE serious

with your very own Jagdtiger ... it carries a 128mm gun ..... (the originals had bigger guns and weighed more tham the modern American M1A2 Abrams tank)
Image
Image
Image

in either of the above two tanks you can rest easy knowing that even though you cant fire at flying targets .... no vampire has EVER beaten a tank in single combat .... (this applies to werewolves also)

now ......... for those of you who REALLY want the neighborhood to tremble in fear of you

... if you want to take out the neighbors dog, the dog house he is in ... and the garage it is next to :o
... if you want to take out that nasty ancient vampire AND his castle ... in one shot
... if you want to take out all the kids on the porch down the street AND most of the house the porch is attached to 8-)

you need to get TOTALLY serious

you need your very own Sturmtiger with a 380mm (15") main gun
... it can only fire a few times an hour ... but who cares when you can wreak that much destruction with just one shot
Image

the above lethal 1/4 scale "Tiger" series tanks are available from this fine retailer http://www.mark-1-tank.co.uk/index.html

Lol, I actually am a big fan of 1/6 scale if you can't tell from my avatar. If I had the room and the funds I would have a fleet of motorcycles for them.

Could always use a troop carrier on my end, although that would be pushing the Magic Bus idea.

It would really be neat if those were remote control.

oh that's cool :D

I'd love to find a 1/3 scale "chopped" Harley model for my Mio ... to go with her black leather outfit

they ARE remote control :D ... in fact on the website I got the pic of the troop carrier they have a video of one being run around in a field
... it's on this page http://www.armortek.co.uk/html/vehicles ... kfz71.html

all the tanks, and similar vehicles I posted pics of are radio controlled .. on the sites it usually lists how many channel each model is to operate it :D

What body is that? Can't say I've ever seen a chest that large on 1/6.

LOL yeah it would be ... it would impress everyone at the Con :D

while I had only posted pics of German WW2 tanks above ... both armortek and mark-1-tank make tanks and vehicles of other nationalities ... such as the American Sherman tank or the Soviet T-34 76/85

now ... if your Obitsu would prefer something a bit more modern to impress people with ... mark-1-tank also makes a selection of modern tanks as well ... such as the:

modern Russian T-90 main battle tank
http://www.mark-1-tank.co.uk/russian-t90.html
Image

or the

modern German Leopard 2 main battle tank ... (also used by the Canadian Army)
http://www.mark-1-tank.co.uk/leopard2.html

LOL ... I wasnt able to find a listing for a barbie camper or school bus you could fix up ........ BUT

mark-1-tank does state on their website that for the 1/6 scale vehicles they will paint them for you ...

... so yes you could get a pink camo pattern done on it ...

... as to whether you could get it done using metal flake paint (for that very feminine "sparkly" look) ... I dont know :?

the only 1/6 scale troop carrier currently being made is this one:
http://www.mark-1-tank.co.uk/251-german-half-track.html
Image
Image
if your crew only needs to use the vehicle machine gun against dogs, kids, and other dolls, then the gun shield mount is your best option
Image
however ... if your crew needs to worry about airplanes (or pesky vampires in their bat form) you should opt for the anti-aircraft mount
Image

and btw ... I have seen enough historical pics of open topped vehicles that had a canvas cover over them that it is safe to assume they were "field modifactions" made by the crew ... and while not strictly allowed by regulations, they are generally ignored by Commanders as long as the mod does not negatively affect the vehicle's mission capabilities ...
... so yes you could rig a frame for the vehicle and put an awning over it :)
