Forgotten in the basement....

These two weren't completely forgotten. It was more of an out of sight out of mind thing. I rediscovered them this afternoon and brought them upstairs.

First up is the doll who, as of today, is named Mara. She's the only Madam Alexander I ended up keeping after my first attempt at doll collecting. MA's unfortunately have that dead stare, and a collection of them gets creepy, so they all ended up being sold off in less than a year. This girly stayed because I always felt bad for her. I bought her brand new for about $10 because she had lost everything except what she's wearing and didn't even have an identifying box. She ended up with an orphan personality, and I couldn't abandon her again.

I don't think she'll integrate into the family too well, but she might make a good baby doll for a future SD.

And here she is with the second rediscovery:

He's a DC GI Joe Wildman. I bought him totally on a whim a few years back, but never really did anything with him. I discovered today that he is jointed, and was very pleased. From this time forth his name shall be Harvey.

I likes him....but I may need to keep an eye on him....

Cool! I have that same guy. These figures have vintage-style GI Joe bodies so there's a decent amount of articulation.

I re-did mine so that he looks a bit like Donald Sutherland's character, Oddball, in the movie Kelly's Heroes. I never could find an affordable 1/6 scale Sherman tank for him to command, though. :(
