Volks vs. Obitsu

So I got a couple of Volks 27cm Excellent Base dolls and I immediately noticed several differences from my beloved Obitsus...

- Volks bodies have looser joints. They're easier to move but harder to get to hold poses.

- The Volks girl can curl up in a ball really well, which is a pose my Obitsu girls have trouble getting into.

- T__T Volks girl has awesome hands. Much better than the soft hands with the middle fingers stuck together than come standard with Obitsu bodies. (Sorry, Obitsu... but those hands irritate me.)

>_< I think Obitsu wins the battle of which body I love the most, but the Volks body definitely has potential to make a great doll.

I have both and Obitsu has one really big factor in it's favor. Obitsu still makes their 1/6 scale dolls. Volks has just been slowly getting rid of what little they have for 1/6 scale. Which is sad. I love my Volks girls. I do like Obitsu's poseability better though.

i like Volks Neo Goh bodies. They are the slim muscle bodies for when you need a well toned but not too pump up male. But they're floppy though T_T I have to get one more to replace mine, burns caused by sculpy on his torso

My Neo Guy is still sturdy though.

Of course when you tout your NEO EB as the awesome action figure. Said Neo EB is not suppose to fall apart into pieces when she falls off a table with an Obitsu. On the whole I would prefer Obitsu for being sturdy and plonk a Volks head on them if I need to. (Regular Helen is a Type C)

And if Obitsu comes out with an Amazon body. I would hybrid my Cy Girl types.

Have you tried tightening and loosening the screws on their backs? I did that with mine. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it did seem too.

I would love to buy some more volks dolls. I really want a few midis...
