I Wants Them ALL...

Darn it I'm like a kid in a candy store with this bunch. But it's not about the dolls. It's about the clothes. I want Theresa's whole outfit. That baby doll dress and those shoes, too cute. Ditto the pink and silver outfit on the blond. I could live without the purple outfit but those shoes are a must. I want that white cat shirt something bad and the two new Kens are just precious both of them. I bought Raquelle mainly for her shoes, though I am warming up to her outfit and to her now that she has brighter lips.

(I painted them to give them a bit more definition. Mine had almost no lips to speak of and it looked a bit odd with the pale lipstick I thought.)

There's going to be lots of body swapping going on here, but I think I am going to have to get a couple more at least before I am done. I really like the new body and the outfits on these are really getting me interested even if the doll heads are not. I'm going to see if I can swing one a week maybe, for however long they last. I can't afford to splurge too much at once on these. I had to put groceries back to buy Raquelle, no kidding, laugh.

I agree, the outfit are really cool and even not too pink! I don't like too much Fashionista's heads as I don't like more of the newest Barbies, because I prefer more delicate, natural face-ups on my dolls (and possible neutral expressions, not smiling -_-) but I plan to buy some for body swapping, hoping tones (and proportions) are fitting to the Winx dolls heads that I want to rebody (they have cool anime face looking a bit like MH ones, but terrible bodies...)

Actually Raquelle's outfit works as separates. I tried the shirt with a black lace skirt, win win, the pants and shoes with a black and silver bustier and a black jacket, also win win. Together I think they look hooker cheap, but they're actually made fairly well for the type of material and they're fine paired with other stuff. But I have to redo her lips. I can't paint at midnight apparently without making my doll look like she's gotten some bad botox...

Just a curiosity (because I've seen Fashionistas only boxed in a store): They ALL have the weird swapping head thing or there are some (like these seems to be) that aren't not the swapping type?

Dee Dee Steele As I live in Lithuania my information might be already have got old, so excuse me for any mistakes.
The first Fashionistas didn't have swapping heads. All my Fashionistas are like that. Later Mattel made new models with swapping heads.

No, they don't. When they first came out they didn't have those. The very first set like this was actually in the Fashion Fever line. Regular legs but nice bendy wrists and arms. Then they made them into Fashionistas and they gave them some really clumsy bending knees which they later replaced with better ones. Later they decided to do the swap heads thing and they several sets out that did that. Apparently they've now either decided that's too much work or maybe the swapping heads thing isn't selling as well now because the latest ones don't have the swapping heads.

Personally I never did like the swap heads thing. I think the the swapping heads thing makes the top area look nasty. I mean who wants to see a line up there when you're girls are wearing tank tops and such? I've bought the heads and pulled them off the head base and put them on other bodies I have but I won't swap heads on the few of these dolls I have and I'm very glad they have gone to a nicer, non-swap version of the Fashionista body. I love the articulated arms and knees, but there are several kinds of Fashionista bodies out there besides the swap ones. Latest incarnation no swapping heads though.

I has a Hello Kitty Summer Fashionista to go with my new Asian Raquelle Fashionista. Found her at Walmart in a damaged box. They'd marked her down to $5 so that made me very happy. That's 2, only 6 more to go... ;P Okay, maybe 5. I can't stand the new "Nikki" and I don't like her outfit anyhow. To me,she's still Artsy and I'm not crazy about that sculpt. I'm real fond of Nikki and that face she's just not Nikki to me. She's not really dark enough to swap out the rest of my AA dolls on unfortunately. I have a whole fleet of AA dolls in different skin tones and a lot of them would like articulated bodies but that's just not happening unless Mattel ever releases a dark, dark Fashionista.

My little collection is proof positive that Mattel does indeed make quite a few different AA skin tones, and always has. They were quite diversified long before the AA line they're making now. I actually have dolls that are as light as a Fashionista and almost as dark as the deep toned AA Barbie Basics one. I have dolls with long straight hair, corn rows, and j curls and just about every kind of AA hair in between. Anyone who says Mattel hasn't been trying, hasn't seen my shelf of AA girls.

I don't have all the ones I'd like yet but my collection is pretty nice and well rounded that way. I've got Asian girls, AA girls, NA girls, Indian girls, Latina girls and plenty of Caucasian girls too. I don't have any of the Sisters collections as yet mainly because they don't sell them here at all it seems, but I mean to add a few of those at some point. I almost got the very dark Basics gal the other day but her makeup was messed up around the eyes and it would have been too difficult for me to fix it.
