hybridizing a Madame Alexander

So, I have my orphaned MA doll. Oddly, while the MA clones freak me out, this one little abandoned clearance from the store has grown on me and could be called my first real dolly.

The thing is: she fits in with no one else in the family. I would kind of like to make her fit in more and am thinking about giving her a new body. (the biggest bonus being that I could find clothes for her easier, nothing fits them)

So far I haven't been able to find one already done. Has anyone ever seen one before? Does anyone have any ideas for what might make the best body?

For reference:

Image

My boy is average size for a YoSD and is in "new pink" skin tone. You can see how dark she is in comparison.

Could a fleshtone Obitsu work with her color?

I think her head should be easy to attach to most things. The base of her head is a fairly simple, large hole. The current system for connection is a long s type hook that attaches inside the top of her head to elastic in her body.

Any ideas are welcome!

Hmm...You could try an RS body in pink...Or DZ pink would match.

DZ pink is way too pale. It's similar in tone to my boy.

I could look into the actual pink color RS, I guess. I was kind of hoping for a cheaper option, though. Plus, I'm not certain how her head would look on a resin body.

Obitsu normal is too light. I was all bothered by how much darker my Kish Wren and Delilah Noir are than my Asian bjds, but I got over it. Once she's around for a while, you won't notice the difference so much.
I think she's a real cutie. You can find outfits for her on eBay pretty often.

It's not her color that bothers me, it her lack of posing capability. Her body is like a standard baby doll with only 5 movable joints. I was hoping that there might be another body out there that I could move her onto, but that's where her pink coloration is causing the biggest issues.

I've actually had her for a number of years, and do love her, but she never fits in with my other dolls, so she hangs out on my computer instead of being out with the others. I'd really like to add her with the others without her looking like nothing more than a baby doll for them.

She's what an 8" doll? There are Madame Alex dolls out there now that do have posable joints at that size but they're a bit expensive usually. I'd try locating an articulated Stacie Barbie doll. They come in several shades and I seem to recall one of the gym Stacie dolls had that skin tone. An Obitsu or something like would be nice but a Stacie body might be less expensive. You can usually find Stacie dolls pretty cheaply.

I think the neck opening on an Obitsu would be way too small. Same for Stacy. Doll Leaves makes a 20cm BJD, and that would be the perfect size for her. I think you can order the bodies separately when Junkyspot does a pre-order thread.
