Obitsu slim head on buffed body?

Postby iron_dog » Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:54 am

I've pretty much decided to cave somewhat gracefully to the inevitable and will be getting the Pixy head on a slim male 23cm body. He won't be the character I originally thought he would be, but one of my other characters has been kind enough to step up and claim this shell *rolls eyes*. Of course, this now means that I must hunt for his partner *sigh*.

I was going to stick with an Obitsu but bump it up to a 27cm doll. And I thought it might be interesting to have this new guy on the buffed/muscled body as I think he'll either be a golem cursed with a soul or one of Mars/Ares by-blows. Problem is, I'm not really feeling the love for any of the heads that are FOR the muscle body for this guy.

Is it possible to put one of the 27cm slim heads on the muscle body and have it look decent or am I totally barking up the wrong tree here? Has anyone done this before and if so, pictures?

It would probably need some modding to either the neck connector or the head's neckhole to be able to go on that body... also the regular male body has a darker skintone than the "fleshtone" slim male.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

It is more than a little modding! The two necks are not really compatible. The buff body heads slip on over the neck and the option neck lets you use heads that are more like GIJoe heads. The neckhole on the other heads is half the size it would need to be. Go for the Ares head on the slim body. It will be sufficiently buff compared to the 23cm.

Agreed. This is my slim boy with a girl's head (faceup by Resu as well as the kimono)

He is a lot more buff then one would think plus he's got big hands. (Trying to find the slim male option hands for sale somewhere in white) this pic he is next to Riven my 21 cm Obitsu and my 27cm Girl. He is bigger then all of them by a few centimeters he's more like 28/29 cm and dwarfs my bitty bitsu.

They are amazing posers and super tight too. I haven't had to go the nail polish route on my boys. The female heads really work on this body.

He actually got a hair cut then a little trim more recently.

Darn you, now I must buy some extra heads and experiment to prove it can be done!!!

Well damn it. I hadn't realized that the skin tones were different despite them both being called fleshtone.

I have a slim 27cm and while the body style is good, it's not quite as buffed as I was thinking for this character. If I really am set on the muscled body I may need to just suck it up and go with one of the heads *sigh*.

There are muscled body made by other brands. Like Volks, Dragon, Hot Toys, ACI, TTL, Traid, etc. Have you looked any of these?

No, I hadn't looked at other companies. Thanks for the tip! Triad has some good looking bodies but they didn't appear to have any heads available on their site. I'm not a Volks fan at all, but I will reluctantly agree that the bodies and 2 heads available are really nice looking.

Some Ken heads will go on a Traid EVO body. I'm going to be putting my Japanese Ken's head on one soon.

Oh wow! That looks absolutely amazing. Certainly a vast improvement over the typical Ken body.
