Hey everyone,
As I said in the sanctuary part of this forum, I just recently took Jin out of his box. Jin is an Otaku 2 body type 27cm action figure. I noticed when I took him out his right wrist was kind of floppy, but couldn't see any reason as to why. Well, today I picked him up and looked again, and fount that the seam on his arm was splitting. x.x I showed my fiance and he noticed it was happening on the left arm as well, but wasn't as large a split yet. I contacted the place I bought him from though I'm pretty sure I've had him longer than their return window is good for. I asked if they could get replacement parts or, worst case scenario, replace him. T_T
I don't really wanna replace Jin. Do any of you know where to get replacement Otaku 2 parts? The info would be greatly appreciated; my boy can't even hold his sword up! Or alternately, if you need some photos pf his upper body in order to help me determine what company may produce a suitable replacement, I can take some. Any advice or info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
-Midori.

If you go on Triad forum you will most likely find help there about that problem.

Thank you May! ^_^
I was thinking too if anyone had any advice on just fixing his current arm parts it would be appreciated as well. You see, I simply can't send him back; he's made friends!
My fiance saw this scene and went 'Aww, he has little sisters!' ^_^ My roommate saw it and said 'Humph, pedophile'. x.xI'm gonna go check out that forum now; thanks again!

you might be able to cement the seams back together. I am not familiar with that brand, so I asked my SO, who has tons of 1/6th action figs. He said "otaku? switch to an obitsu body, they dont break when you breathe on them" and walked away....

Hmm, you know, I hadn't thought about a total body swap! The more I hear about the Obitsus, the more I want one! XD

I have a funny feeling that the skin tone won't match. Just in case that bothers you. Also Triad's male figure are some what larger than an Obitsu. What did the people on the Triad's forum have to say?

Yeah, I would probably have to repaint; I think the white skintone may be just off and natural would be waaay too dark.
Well, I got several answers on Triad. One person very bluntly said it was a manufacturing defect, and nothing more. A couple others were actually helpful: told we to put some super glue on a toothpick and place it in the cracks, then pinch them together. Then to take the wrist joint and put superglue on it and articulate it until it's dry to basically give him cartilage. I think what I may do is his: go ahead and order an Obitsu body just to give his head somewhere to go while I'm working on his arms (I want to put together an Obitsu anyway so I feel this would be a good start) and then try what they suggested. I'm still waiting to hear form the vendor I bought him from; I figure they'll probably get back to me early tomorrow morning. They've always been very helpful in the past so, who knows? They may be able to get me some replacement arms. Alternately, I may just get another Otaku 2 body, though from what I'm seeing on Triad's forums (and a member or two here) that they're VERY prone to breaking down.
For now, his carpal tunnel remains the same, so he's taking it easy and hanging out on my practice sword on my desk. Thanks for checking up on him! n.n He may not appear to, but he really appreciates the concern. XD

for a quick temporary repair you could wrap electrical tape around to hold them together and prevent further splitting
