Star dolls, tell me more

I know nothing about Star Dolls and am curious to know more. They look really awesome, I love their faces and hair, but before I can even entertain the idea of getting one, I want to know more. When I look at them in the stores, I think they could bend but there are no obvious joints. Do they bend? What's their quality like?

-edit- Is not thinking straight tonight

5Star doll is a BJD company. You're probably getting them confused with Stardoll (doesn't have 5 in the name!)

Here's the important part for you:

One of the reasons I really wish the doll could stand on her own is that she can't do much else. She has practically no articulation. She has less articulation than a Barbie Basic doll. She can bend at the neck and at the shoulders. Three points of articulation. Three.

My uneducated opinion (meaning, I've never owned one and have no idea what I'm talking about) is that the faces are very pretty, and if they match obitsu colors, they could be very promising once re-bodied.

That's the other route I'm thinking. When I have the money again.... yesss....

omg! lol, Stardoll is a pretty old website. They used to be kind of a paper doll type of thing (http://www.stardoll.com/en/) where you spend real money to get star dollars and buy outfits for your digital doll to wear. You got 1 free star dollar a day so you could spend a long time saving up, but of course some people get addicted and have to spend real money, that's how these sites stay in business. Oh, plus they had stuff that you could ONLY buy with star dollars.

I'm so surprised to see them put out real dolls now lol.

I have two I bought for their head sculpts and they ended up swapping with two Barbies. Skin tones will vary by the Star so look for a match while you're there. I haven't bought any outfit packs only because none of them interested me, the clothes are hit and miss with other Barbies, the shoes kind of fit Monsters.

Here's Pivotal heads on Star bodies which actually works in its own way.

Thanks for the info. Too bad they don't bend anymore than the 3 points >_<
