What did you do with your Stardoll?

What did you do with your Stardoll?

Postby claws » Thu Sep 13, 2012 9:43 pm

I've been stressed out a lot lately, and just wanted a new doll to distract me. I nearly spent a lot of money on a Momoko or a Pullip, but since I can't really afford them at the moment, I settled on a Stardoll from TRU. I got the goth one, because she's gorgeous but I hate her non-articulated (well, nearly) body! She's such a nice height and shape, but all she can do is stand around and look pretty. I actually did try her head on an Obitsu, but the proportion was just off. It's not big enough to give it that cute Pullip look, and not small enough to fit the body. I like her, but I'll feel like I wasted money if I can't do anything with her. Anyone use a Stardoll for a project of some kind? How did she turn out?

Oh, also, I got a Stardoll fashion pack. The one with the purple dress and bodysuit. The dress is junk (they can make better Barbie clothes than this...) but the bodysuit fits my Obitsus nicely and looks cool with lots of different pieces. Shoes are useless for the most part, although they can sort of wear the red boots. Clear pink bag is cute, everything else is kinda just junk. Good thing it was on sale... :|

I don't have a Stardoll, but someone on here has rebodied several of them on Liv bodies.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

What about putting her head on a Barbie Fashionista body? Or maybe a Moxie Teen body, if you can find one.

Both Liv and Fashionistas provide good skintone matches- it depends on which Stardoll. I have the red Goth on a pale Liv, and the girl with the purple jacket on a Fashionista. (You'll have to put a shirt under her jacket, though- it will not close on a Barbie.) The blonde in pink and the redhead also match Fashionistas well.

Fallen Angel on collector/pivotal Elvis loving Barbie. Named her Riasa after an OC.

And I can't find any pics of Tatiana, blonde with the ponytail on the side, on a jointed elbow click knee Barbie.

Most definitely take the Star or at least her head with you to match at the store. I scored a sale on some collectors with pivotal bodies but only one matched so the other got a Takara head in the juggling. The collector heads are on the Stardoll bodies and so far aren't taking up much room.

I remembered that I had a Liv body hanging around, but when I tried to remove the Moxie Teenz head I had on it, I broke the neck peg right off. What do I do? The body is perfect for the Stardoll head...skin tone and everything.

@DollyKim: That is gorgeous! I think I'll keep a lookout for other bodies, just in case. Especially if I can get a good deal on them. Sometimes I think companies like Obitsu are evil for spoiling us in articulation... :P

She doesn't match the Obitsu but for a Barbie she's pretty good. I went for ones with outfits I liked as they're skinnier than regular Barbies and might not change much.

I've made replacement neck nobs with Apoxie Sculpt. It's always good to have a pair of small jars, it's a two part compound, around for repairs.

Argh, then why is TRU selling them for $22? Then again, they're always more expensive than anywhere else....none of the Target stores near me sell anything but Barbie and Bratz, and those new little alien-looking dolls...I forget what they're called, but one has glitter in her legs and another one glows in the dark or something. But that's it.
