Tell me everything and anything about them. Mods, hybrids, etc etc. I swear we had a topic about them floating about.

if you cut the top of the heads off at the seam line you can get to the back of the eyes to either harvest them if the head isnt a keeper, or if you are really carefull you can cut away the vynil backing and repostion the eyes so they dont look quite so zombielike. they eyes are set in kinda like a bjd with eyewells but the inside is coated in vinyl to keep them in. they wigs are very soft and take a boil perm really really well. for a softer permed look you can use hot tap water if you can get it hot enough to be really uncomfortable on your skin. I suggest dunking in Icecubed water after perm and before the rollers come out. this sets the curl and for some reason really makes the hair soft and shiney. the heads look pretty nice even without wigs on as they have cute sightly molded hair lines. they wigs are a size 5-6 and will fit my RS bei like they were made just for her. you just have to cut the peg off for that. I have seen people put standard wigs on liv girls too. I suppose you could make a peg into a wig or just use sticky tape or velcro. cause there heads are a little slippery.
lets see, there chests are a bit smaller and waists a bit bigger than barbies. but can share very well. thier feet are a hair bigger and flat so some of the really dainty and super high heeled shoes wont fit, but alot of them do. I mugged 2 different high school musical dolls for thier clothes and shoes and the bed of course. they arent as nice as an obitsu of course but all in all they are a really good deal. I am in love with the wigs...I still need the green one from the first set though and have only seen it at TRU and I didnt need everything else in the multipack :(
ok, picture. this is shortly after the mugging of above mentioned high school musical doll. the shoes fit so I celebrated by haveing her do a danse...she held this pose until I decided to move her. over 45 minutes later...(and no she isnt touching the bed at all and her front foot is on point)

I've done two mod projects on LIV girls and I'm planning a few more down the line.
They're pretty easy to mod, and they're really fun. I love how easy it is to change the wigs. They pose really well, too.

The twins (one is modded to have no eyes, the other remains unmodded)
These are actually two models of the same doll, Daniela. One was the first edition and the other was the second edition that had dogs.

Volks head on a regular Obitsu gal in a Liv outfit. Only thing that didn't fit were the glasses.

I just got one at a thrift store the other day. Didn't really realize it was a Liv girl until I got it home and took it out of the package. What intrigued me into buying it was the obitsu-like knees on it. I plan on sticking either a takara Jenny or Momoko head on it sometime in the future - after decapitating her and performing optical removal surgery on her LOL

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about these dolls. I've had Barbies, dollfies, Obitsus, "dollikins", and a lot of other poseable dolls...but my modified Liv girl, Chae-ri, has stolen my heart quite away.

First, you don't actually have to cut her head open to change the eyes (which are half-round 8mm, btw). All you have to do is heat the head to soften the viny (dipping th head in hot water works well). Then you just squeeze the socket nd the eye pops out! It sounds awful, but trust me, it's easy.

The knees are double-jointed like an Obitsu's, but the arms aren't. Not that I mind much. And the feet are BEAUTIFULLY detailed--but good luck finding shoes for them.

Oddly enough, the hands look a LOT like 27cm Obitsu hands. Enough to make me go "Hmm".

I gave Chae-ri a face repaint, eye adjustment, and "real" eyelashes. (I'll have to take off the lashes if I ever change her eyes, but that won't be so bad.)

She also has TWENTY wigs--ten Liv wigs, ten fur wigs. With matching outfits for each.

I've had her for two months, and now she owns me for free. :B

Another note-- the old JUKU COTURE doll's shoes fit Liv girls really well. In my post above, the blue and green platforms Kimber is wearing are Juku coture. I'm 90% sure Jenny shoes may fit too. :)

Another source for Liv doll shoes: old Skipper and "active" Barbie shoes fit rather well. Ken shoes will not fit; they're way too big. CyGirls' shoes should fit as well, if you can find any loose. My Scene shoes fit as well, though they look kind of funkily outsized. Finally, Next Top Model shoes are a bit big, but they do stay on, kind of. A few of the "regular" Barbie shoes will actually fit her, if they're broad enough.

I'm curious about the new Moxie Teenz, but it sounds like they'd be a nightmare to try and find clothes and shoes for. One of the great things about Chae-ri is that she can wear just about anything made for Barbie except 90 percent of the shoes. I also have tons of homemade patterns for Barbie size clothes. Right now Chae-ri's wearing an outfit of my creation--skinny black jeans, white man-tailored shirt, red Chinese print bustier and a black linen vest. Pictures soon, promise.
