Anybody know who she is?

She's by mattel and has elf ears. I'm thinking of fixing her up but I would like to know who she is first.

OMG, you lucky biatch! I'm absolutely queasy peridot green with jealousy!!!! FYI, that's the Barbie Legends of Ireland Platinum Level Faerie Queen and she's worth a f-g small fortune!!! She is extremely rare and I totally covet her like I covet few other things in terms of Barbie. Clean her up and you just may be able to put a tidy sum in the bank if you sell her. She's not worth what she would be new in box, but she's still a very pricey little doll and you almost never see her used. Oh gosh, I'm so jealous I really, really am. She's a major grail doll of mine, oh SHIZ!!!! (MK just sobs at the sight of her in that condition.)

She is in somewhat rough shape, so I doubt she's worth that much, especially since she's the red haired version. She doesn't have her wings or any of her accessories and the lacy parts of her sleeves are in tatters. She doesn't even have shoes.
I was thinking of rerooting with something similar to what she has and doing some work on her dress(taking off the old lace sleeves and putting on something new, probably something minimal, and maybe taking off the puffy neck part) with the intention of maybe selling her because honestly I don't have room and need to clear out some dolls. Now I'm not so sure I should do any of that.
As to the idiot who would get rid of her, she has clearly had a rough, full life, been played with, maybe belonged to a child at some point. Otherwise, I suspect a lot of the dolls that end up there come from owners who passed away, so that's an option too.

I probably could not afford her even if you did decide to sell her, sigh. I know she's in horrible shape but she's got to be worth something still. Like I said I'm coveting madly here. I would re-root her, make her another fairy queen like costume with $20 a yard fantasy netting, use real swarovsky crystals, hand beading et all. Make her a polymer and crystal crown and belt. I would do her up so proud then display her with Aine, POI, Scottie, and Deidre in a showcase. She'd deserve every bit of the 100 hours I'd likely spend on restoring her and even me sticking myself and totally bleeding my fingers too! That's a dream doll for me even looking like that. I've been totally sitting here whining over her looking like that. Please do something. She's so badly damaged and she deserves so much better. No one would blame you with her in that state. She totally deserves to be OOAKed with the most expensive materials you can afford and when you do. Please let us all see her. I so totally want to erase this badness from my mind, shudder. If I could do it through the screen I'd grab her and start it immediately myself, I swear, lol...

I have one and that hair as it is will be a nightmare, it comes as the kind of curls you never brush or you get that. There should be wings, a staff, shoes, and a crown with her. That pink bow doesn't go.

She would definitely be worth rerooting and given all the fairy clothes she wants. And I'm going to PM someone else.

Okay, I did a little research this morning. I'm kind of blushing at my initial excitement now because a decade and a half into doll collecting I just made a stupid, newbie mistake and didn't check actual past auction prices. Those crazy listing prices aside she seems to be going for a lot less de-boxed. There are dolls that have sold for as little as $10 and as much as $65 but I'm not seeing a lot over that and even the dolls in the box did not go for anything like $700. She's apparently got a lot of people really trying to artificially inflate her and totally overvalue her rareness.

So the $700 quote, not really accurate, sorry, my bad, but I've never seen her except on Amazon myself and these BIN listings on Ebay and I had no idea. If you take a look at "faerie queen barbie" via the advanced search options on Ebay and check past auctions she has been going for a lot less. Heck if I'd have known I could have gotten her naked for $10 I'd have jumped on that so fast I'd have gotten vertigo, lol.

Yeah, I want one, and I am going to get me one too. It would seem I can afford this lady and I'm going to grab me one one way or the other. This one, the Irish Dance Barbie, and The Bard they would pretty much complete my Celtic Barbies collection. I'm not likely to get The Bard but if I can get the Queen I am going for it. I just love the dolls in this series, and the couple of Celtic DOTW that look like them.

The last one from this year I'm not quite as crazy about but I still might get her because she's selling cheaply enough that I can afford her easily and I've been thinking about it. She's not really the same sculpt though and it's irritating me. The others are all non-smiling Mackies. She's all big smile and looks more like a playline girl. I'm just not sure she fits in with the rest of my Celtic beauties. I don't like the very old Irish Barbie for that reason too. Too toothy for me. So I never got her either...

The limited ed brunette goes for stupid money so you're forgiven. For a moment I was having a panic I shouldn't have taken mine out but her box was falling apart.

My biggest bummer is her body isn't to jointed for being the skin tone it is. I'd like to see the thrift store girl when she's feeling better.
