Doll suggestions

I'm after a 1/6th scale non resin doll for under $200 US.
Must be comparable in scale to the monster high girls. Non vintage items only (currently available new in box).

Does anyone have any company suggestions or sculpt suggestions. I've looked at all the doll sites I know and found nothing nice.

Update: the boy charcter is white (snow white skin not natural white skin) and taller than average with white hair and black eyes and tattoos.
The girl is described below but she's shorter than average with a human skin tone.

Have you looked at Obitsu?

Otherwise: http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step0.php? ... 0930043334 - she's ABS plastic.

Can you add some references for the character you have in mind? A sketch or a little description, maybe it can help us...

A sketch won't help as I cannot draw. The female has a youthful face and is shorter than the other characters - probably around 5foot 2 or so. It's mostly the height I'm concerned about with her and if i can find the right body that's the hard part over. Her face is similar to this children's film charcter: http://thesecretofmoonacre.wikia.com/wi ... rryweather
but with bigger eyes
The boy is taller - average height - I'm really unsure of how to describe him - I have an image of him in my head it just won't translate into words. Younger definitely more a late teen early twenties sculpt.
Thanks to all of you or your help so far :)

That's ok :)
Non resin is my preference but there are a lot more options in resin which makes it hard.

Scroll down for pictures comparing different bodies, use the pull down menu in the upper left corner to visit specific brand pages http://dolfielittles.com/encyclopedia.html I own everyone on this site so I can generally answer questions of how one compares to another.

When you say in scale to Monster High dolls, do you mean just height-wise or do you mean with the same proportions? 'Cause MH have huge heads compared to most 1/6th dolls. About the only other dolls that have that same head-to-body ratio are the LIV dolls, and Bratzillaz.

If you want something a bit more normally proportioned, you'll want your girl to be on a smaller body to stay in scale, somewhere between 25.4 and 26.2 cm, or right around 10 inches. Takara Jenny dolls and the Chinese Kurhn dolls both are around 10in, and the Kurhn dolls usually have really nicely articulated bodies. There are also the smaller Obitsu dolls, which will take a ton of different head options (I've put a Jenny head on a 27cm Obitsu no problem). Parabox, Obitsu, and Azone all make heads for the smaller bodies, as well. Azone and Megahouse both make 1/6th anime dolls (usually on Obitsu bodies), so those could be an option too.
The only other girls I know of are much much bigger (Hot Toys, TTL, Cy Girls, Triad and the like are more realistically proportioned). Although, the new TTL head I just bought would probably fit very well on a smaller Obitsu, so some of their heads could probably work (She looks so pin-headed on a TTL body).

For the guy, I would definately suggest an Obitsu slim male body. It's the slimmest guy body you will find, hands down. Volks also make a slim guy option, but I don't have much experience with them. There's also the Hot Toys True Type Slim (and the various clones on Ebay), but even he is really bulky, especially compared to Obitsu dolls.
I have to second going to DollyKim's Littles Encyclopedia and checking out all the different options in the 1/6th scale world. There are a ton of options in 1/6th, and it can get a little confusing. It's helped me out many times when I've been trying to figure out which body to go with. :D

I have a Sideshow, a Hot Toys, a Bratzilla, some LIV girls, a Jenny (still on her own body), TTL girls, Obitsu's and a ton of MH girls, so if you need some comparison photos just let me know! :D (I need an excuse to take more pictures of them :D )

If you really want a girl with the same proportions as MH but shorter, Ever After High could be what you're looking for?
