He is not 100% white like the Edward or Victoria dolls I have and no glitter.(Yay!) He's a very, very pale NS but he's definitely an olive peachy NS shade when compared to either of them. I'm going to have to see if I can find a pale Disney guy body for him eventually because I rather like him despite his origin as a Twilight doll and feel he deserves better than a stiff and very badly cast body.
(Visible seams on his hands Mattel? On a COLLECTOR'S level Barbie? REALLY???? Sometimes their QC totally does suck! But he has perfect hair and nice face paint so I can't complain too much, I suppose. I mean how often does that happen lately that you get a very pretty Ken with fully realized face paint and a full head of hair that isn't chopped off weirdly at the sides?)
The Edward Ken I was going to reroot and do an OOAK with, but honestly I just never got to finishing it because he so totally bored me even as a doll I just wasn't into it. I mainly got him at the time because he was on clearance and I wanted his outfit for my guys. One of my guys is wearing it. Edward is off in a box somewhere. His head is defaced and half rooted and separated from his body which I think is in another box. I meant to get back to him but now that I have this guy I probably won't bother. He looks 100X better than that doll ever did.
I only need so many guy dolls with the Harley face mold. I have the Asian/Native American looking Basics guy with this face too so that's probably where I will stop with the Harley boys. I would though really like to get this one on a better body. He's far too pretty to be such a stiff..
Basics guy is on a regular Ken body but that body would be way too dark for this boy. Unfortunately the only pale posable boy body I have is occupied by Basics Ben. So who the heck is Basics Ben? Blaine+Ken=Ben. That's exactly what Basics boy looks like to me, a weird cross between Ken and Blaine. He's got the Blaine face mold that I love but he's totally painted like a Ken. It's so very odd, but I totally love him anyway and gave him the buff prince body to celebrate his uniqueness. In my little doll world he's Blaine's younger brother Ben, might be gay, and a little bit less than intelligent at times. All the girls are hitting on him but I have a feeling he's stuck on Ryan who's totally hetero and gelling with my new DH Midge, poor thing...
Anyway, if any of you guys want a very pretty NS Harley Ken boy? You might want to stop by Target tomorrow before they are all gone. MHO, he's a worthy addition to any Ken collection, very handsome, even if he did get issued as a Twilight doll...
