I HAS SUCCUMBED!

...to the call of Monster High. I resisted for as long as I could but...

So, here they are, my girls. Yep. Four of them. And there may be more in the future. Who knows with me.

Image

I bought a 2 pack CAM, the witch and cat girl. The witch I combined with the Bee add-on pack. Her name is Beetrice. Wasn't sure but the colors work well together.

The cat girl is Catriana, who is wearing a Lagoona outfit. Love those jellie shoes and the matching bag. I DON'T like her wig, though. There isn't nearly enough hair in it to properly hold on those ears, or hide the very obvious clips. She may end up stealing a Pukifee wig until I can find her a proper replacement. As soon as I can FIND the spare Pukifee wigs. They seem to have vanished into the black hole that is my room. I really have no idea what I did with them.

Then there is Spectra, the Dot Dead Gorgeous version. Always liked her. I like how her arms and legs fade to clear. And her high cheekbones. I saw a gorgeous custom version of her on Etsy, too. The customized versions of these girls are seriously amazing. Not sure I'm ready to drop QUITE that much money on one, though.

Image

And my favorite, the fantastic Catty Noir. She's so pink! And shiny! And check out those pony play fetish boots!

I need to do something with Catty's hair, though. She has a LOT of it, and it was a tangled mess out of the package. I managed to pick most of the tangles out, but I'd love to get some curl back into it and get rid of the frizz effect (Catty does NOT approve of frizz). I was considering washing it (the ponytail, anyway), wrapping it in small curlers and letting it air dry.

Anyhoo ... yep, they're my girls. And I was eyeballing the ice girl and pink blob CAM pack, too, and the ghost add-on. Walmart has a LOT of the dolls in stock. I paid $22 for Catty, but everywhere else seems to be asking $30 and up for her. But the CAM packs are only $15 and the add-ons $10. I'd love to find the male gargoyle and vampire pack, with the puma add-on. But they didn't have them there.

I love Spectra high cheekbones too so I understand very well your weakness *_* even if now I have only 3 MH in my gang. "Luckily" the girls are a bit costly in Italy and now is hard to find one at less than 25 euro, so I always think twice before taking one on the impulse and that helped me in don't ending overhelmed by the ghouls ^_^''

One of us! One of us! Romp bomp a stomp! Romp bomp a... Gooba-gabba gooba-gabba.

Try using straws for curlers with Catty's hair. Dip her hair in the water, don't pour it over the head because it might mess with the glue or sparkles. Ive also gotten waves from doing small braids, getting them wet, and letting the hair dry then undoing it.

Oooh, Spectra is a beauty! Also that bee girl XD So cute! I see why you couldn't resist :D
(Actually the only reason I don't have a Monster myself (yet) is because I haven't been to places I could "accidentally" find one lately ... or it would have "followed me home", all by itself *nods*)

Mwahaha. Join our ranks!

You picked some cute ones! That reminds me, I need to put all my CAMs together. I'm so out of room though.

I've managed to resist Catty so far... but I think on Friday when I've gotten paid it's going to be another story, especially because I work in a toy store. They're always right there. Orz Catty really is cute, especially that dress of hers. It''s perfect for an idol singer.

Yeesh, that is some box hair, though! Straw curling is definitely an option. If you're okay with potentially washing some glue out, though, what I usually do is just run the hair under the hottest tap water the faucet can produce, just a few seconds at a time (sustained heat, I'm sure we all know, is not good for doll hair, even just tap water!). Squeeze the water out and repeat as necessary. It's a good first step before you have to resort to boiling water as there's less potential to damage the hair. It's sufficient for box hair and even some baity ponies and dolls I'm restoring.

Catriana and Spectra are particularly lovely. Catriana's hair colour really suits her. Very nice collection :)
