Obitsu/Azone face cleaning HELP!!!

Oh my, dollieh lovers, I'm in a bind!! I tried removing Ciel's (from the Azone Asterisk Collection) faceup, but his black hair dye smudged EVERYWHERE, and even the outlines of his old eyes and eyebrows aren't fully going away. Can someone tell me the best way they've found to do a good HARD scrub to get rid of factory faceups, especially dark ones like this?

Here's what I've tried so far:

-100% Pure Tea Tree Oil--barely worked, mostly smudged the black paint around.
-Non-Acetone Nailpolish Remover--worked a little better, but also really smudged.
-80% Isopropyl Alcohol--this, combined with a magic eraser, got it to the state it's in now (85% clean)

So....can anyone help? I'm freaking out!!! I spent nearly $70 on a naked Ciel specifically to customize!!! I'm so upset!! Plus, if I try much more experimenting my hands are going to peel right off! I'm already working on a good layer of skin.

I'm very sorry I can't help...but you have Ciel two? Sorry if I get too over excited, but I don't know many Azone owners. ^_^ Anyways I heard Mr. Clean magic eraser really helps (though it seems you already did this.^^;) but good luck?^^

Try finding higher percentage Isopropyl Alcohol... I have 91% with the magic erasure. BUT... if it wasn't completely sealed before they did the face up, it has probably stained the vinyl, in which case you would need the Twin Pines Remove-Zit and Formula 9-1-1. It was made for vinyl dolls.

The tea tree oil WILL work on almost all factory faceup---you just have to keep doing it until it clears up. Usually takes about 4-6 q-tips full that you keep replacing when the paint gets too smudgey. The tea tree oil has to lay on the faceup for a few minutes and also on the q-tips very wet.


If you want to send me the head, I'll try to remove the faceup for you. If the vinyl is 'stained' like Yanagi-san said, the twinpines Remove-zit is the only way, but I rarely run into any factory faceups that require that, though.

Keep trying the tea tree (lay it on thick) and keep switching out the q-tips. Scrub HARD and evenly. Don't give up for a few minutes. If that still doesn't work, if you want to send it to me to let me try, I'd be willing to give it a go for you. ^^

Yanno, I've had success using Windsor & Newton Brush Cleaner on Monster High faces to remove the factory paint, you just need to make sure you wash it with dish soap periodically to make sure the brush cleaner doesn't soak into the head. But don't ever use it on the harder plastic bodies, they'll melt! I second Yanagi-sen though, if the paint has stained the vinyl, you'll need the twin pines stuff.

YandereToyBox I own Ciel, the special version with the cape and the top hat. ^____^ I got lucky and someone in the states was selling him decently cheap, Mint In Box. I own a second Ciel (and Sebastian!) because I'm making them into custom Claude and Alois!! <3 I love Azones and Obitsus in general though and I'd love to talk dollieh with you any time, especially because it sounds like we're in the same situation (check your other thread! )

SetsunaKou As always your kindness astounds me Setsuna dear. <3 The vinyl was actually stained though, so it seems like I'm going to have to order the special cleaner.

Yanagi-Sen Thank you for coming to my rescue!! ;____; The issue with Ciel is the purple they used for his contract eye is SUPER PIGMENTED which bled through, and then there was just so much black to smudge all over because of his hair! he also has a weird part of his hair where I had to cut it down to a buzz cut, they were SUPER SERIOUS about no scalp showing with this guy so they actually made his middle part come down into the vinyl of his head. I've never seen anything like it before.

@MeltedCaramel: Omg I got my Ciel super cheap on ebay because he was slightly damaged. ^__^ Blargh, I'm making a custom Sebastian (It's cheaper and I don't like the look of the one from Azone, I don't know why. :/) and I'm having such a hard time finding a suit for him. D: Yes definitely, I'd love to talk dolliehs. ^_^
