Obitsu/Parabox Megu

Postby Samseramsamsam » Mon Apr 13, 2015 3:07 am

May I introduce Mandala, the newest addition to my time-sharing Obitsu 48 body
She is a Megu sculpt with a faceup by Shinya (tenipuridan on flickr). I am so in love with her little face!

Sadly, the lavender eyes I bought for her were not a good choice, as these are "solid" half round eyes (first time I encountered those), not the hollow halves I am used to.
After attaching the lashes, I am now too chicken to squeeze these in.
The parabox states 16 mm eyes for her, but currently she is wearing my only 14 mm eyes.
The eye pockets on the Megu head are quite deep, which makes handling the eyes difficult for me - if you do not get them in the right position at once, manipulating the position is quite difficult.

However, I really like the glitter eyes with her face ;)

A small slit or two in the eye pocket can make maneuvering eyes easier, but then some eye putty is necessary to keep the eyes from shifting.

Sweet gal, Love how adorable she looks.

For my Megu, I use a stump of white tac to push around the 14mm half round eye ball as well as to fill up space after. Mine don't have eyelashes since I have no idea how to apply them...

Thanks guys :)

K2, thank you for always encouraging me to take up the knife ;)
However, I really do not dare to cut around on that lovely head ^^" The faceup artist did such a great job, I would fear to destroy anything about that head.

The curious thing is that the 14mm eyes hold like a dream, without putty or anything, and even are a bit tight as to moving around. I will just have to get some more 14mm eyes ;) (nah, someday I'll be brave enough to warm the head more and squeeze 16mm eyes in in spite of the lashes. Once I am fed up with the glitter eyes).

Iwa_Hoshi, the lashes were surprisingly easy to apply... even given the fact that I glued the wrong side in ^^" These were curiously self-adhesive lashes, but similar to human fake lashes had the glue strip on the underside. However, as I was single-mindedly influenced by various tutorials, I glued in the UPPER side of the lashes (into the eyes, instead of just going the easy way and using their self-adhesion and putting them on the "lid" from the outside).
Live and Learn, the more you know etc. ;)=

Your girl is cute. I find when using eyes in the obitsu head you have to go a smaller size then what they tell you.

I slit deep pockets. I have even been known to cut them out on the tiny Obitsus I have.

She is a lovely girl. When you say the eyes are solid, are they glass? Or acrylic with eye stems. Those stems are very easy to pop off if so.
