Is anyone familar with the Gotz brand?

Postby kittyasauras » Sat Apr 13, 2013 4:48 pm

I found her recently, and I just don't know who she is? She is a Gotz doll, sculpted by Sylvia Natterer. The date on the back of her head is '89. She is made fully of vinyl, has blue eyes, long brunette hair, and freckles. What is her name?

Thank you.

Gotz dolls are of german manufacture and although of the "little girl" doll style really are more meant for a collectors market. My mother has several which she bought during varions trips to Berlin while my grandmother was still alive over there. From this look this one hasn't had an easy life (like my mother's have). I doubt that is the original dress. There should be websites dedicated to the Gotz brand for collectors if you do a google :)

Afraid my mother does not have one with freckles so I don't know this particular one.

googled a bit. she is from the Fanouche and Friends line, though probably not Fanouche since she doesn't have freckles. I gather they are actually playline dolls in that line.

I had seen some Fanouche ones yesterday, and I had thought they looked similar. I wasn't sure what to make of it though (as in, are they related [siblings], are they from the same line, or does the artist have same face syndrome). She does have the same body as Fanouche.

This doll has a mark on her leg, but it should come off with a magic eraser. Her hair isn't too bad either (besides the sparse plugs, but it seems a lot of them are made that way?). It was kept in a french braid, but I took it down because it was very loose.

I will do some searching with Fanouche and Friends, thanks Grey
