Why such a large collection of Delilahs? Do you have a Flickr account?

I'm having trouble with my Photobucket account at the moment. They're revamping or something and it's screwing up my posting pics. :( I'm not into using flickr. Why so many Delilah's? Mostly because I really, really like her, I've been getting them as presents, Christmas, birthday and so forth, and they're on clearance usually. Delilah can be addictive. :P She's a very versatile doll, this girl, almost as good as a resin BJD.

My collection is actually not very large by the standards of some DN collector's. Some of them have all of her various incarnations including the mannequins and the exclusive and very limited Top Hat doll. Some of them have gone even further and have customed various dolls or the mannequins as well as getting them all factory besides. She's got a nice collector's base for a vinyl BJD who isn't legal to talk about on DOA.

Delilah may be a vinyl BJD and she may not be as posable as some of the more expensive ones but she's pretty cool, has a lovely sculpt I think, and has a lot of the advantages of owning a more expensive BJD without the higher price tag. For me she's a 16" fashion doll with BJD aspects. I love that I can totally custom her, a bigger girl, even change out her eyes just by taking her head off. I like her good girl/goth girl thing a lot too. On clearance she's affordable and I've got my friends and family trained. They know what to buy me when they need to give me a gift, dolls and nothing but dolls, and right now they know I am totally into my Delilah's. Easy call and I never mind getting another one, obviously, lol.

7 will be it though. I'm not thrilled with the rest of her incarnations. I think I have the best of the whole collection in the dolls I have actually. There are two outfits I like that I don't have, the Lady Onyx outfit and the Blue Gloomth, but other than that I'm happy with my 7. The only reason it's going to be 7 actually is because I want one regular skin OOAK, which I've done, and one pale skin OOAK, which is why I have #7 on lay-a-way. I can't really custom D&D as I'd like because of her gray skin tone. I like OBTS Delilah as she is way too much to go there, so a second light skinned doll, not gray skinned, was in order for the 2nd OOAK.

Honestly if most of my collection hadn't been gifted to me (and bought on clearance) I'd probably only have one or maybe two. One of each skin tone maybe and I'd likely have not customed either one of them. I did not want to buy one new from Ashton Drake. I'd have finally bought those two once they started clearing them out. But as it turned out people keep giving me Delilah's and I'm just enjoying. I liked Delilah at full price but couldn't really afford her. I kind of wanted her at $150, but the clearance sales that's what made my collection happen. My family and friends they can afford to buy them at the prices she can be found for now. I can too, at least a couple, so there you go. Between them going there and me going there I just ended up with a whole crew of different Delilah's.

I am going there getting me a pair of low end resin dolls but likely that pair will be it. MSD sized BJD's proper are way out of my league usually budget-wise. I don't buy much over $100 very often in terms of dolls and usually I don't spend that much. The $100 dolls those are the Christmas and birthday presents around here. I'm a $20 or less Barbie type doll collector most of the time and I have a pretty strict budget for that. Most months it's $20, maybe $40 now and again if make a little extra that month. A lot of my dolls they come thrift too. All these brand new Delilah's they've been a real treat for me. I never really meant to have more than 2 though. It just sort of turned out this way.

Oh I think she most definitely is a very versatile doll. I am kind of disappointed that I haven't done much with her, but you've got me thinking about her more and more. She has kind of been neglected in my collection, I want to upgrade her look now. I have her more or less in her factory clothes along with her little ferret. I clipped the tag though, It was irritating the heck out of me. Yeah, she could use a new pair of eyes and a new wig, and definitely some new clothes. Ive taken a look at a few outfits, I like them. Now, I just have to find some shoes that fit, I gotta find her measurements. Every time I see her though, I cant help but think of the cranberries song, even when I bought her i was humming the theme! Lol

Treading on my dreams, Stop treading on my dreams, Stop treading on my dreams,
Out out out Delilah, Out out out stay out of my place, Out out out Delilah, Out out out or I'll rearrange your face

Yeah, I think its time for Delilahs face to be rearranged! Lol, Have you heard the song? I'm sure you have. It's not one of their most popular songs, but its catchy nontheless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RlE3OMfUTY I wish I could do a youtube video of her with that song. It would be righteous!

You have PIP Delilah so try Ellowyne shoes and Tyler shoes because some of them might fit. Usually the sandals do but not the closed toes though I have found a few pairs of Tonner boots that do work. The Kingstate 16" doll sandals with the thick straps and buckles worked for me and I think Facets and Dollychris are still selling those. They actually have shoes that are labeled for her and some of them are rather nice. Try to get her a pair of flat feet if you see some anywhere. That opens up a lot more in terms of the possibilities. I've actually started making shoes for Delilah and for my Lorifinas. I'll show you the pair I just finished as soon as my PB account thing is resolved.
