speaking of thrift stores - today mine had ANOTHER of those horses! It was a pinto and had the whole saddle set with it....I was tempted, but it was 11.99....I only paid $5 each for my other ones ;p

Nice, a dolly rodeo? ^.~

This horse originally came from Target for the Target brand 'American Girl' clones (Or so I was told), and in my opinion it looks small to Allison (who is a 50cm obitsu) though I'm not around horses a lot so my sense of scale may be a bit off. (Sister has a few real horses.)

Allison apparently dislikes horses, I had to bribe her to stand next to it for a scale shot. Oh well, was planning on giving her the pistol anyway, so it's all good.

Hmmm I wonder if the horse woul work for 1/6 scale. How tall is he?

The horse is about 34cm (13.25 inches) tall and about 14 cm (5.5 inches) wide.

From talking with my sister, that makes it about 13 to 23 cm too short as a 1/3rd scale riding horse, she says it'd probably work as a pony or younger horse. Using the same 'standard horse size' measurement range it'd be about 6 to 11 cm too big for a riding horse in 1/6th scale, which would make it a 1/6th scale model of one of the worlds largest horses on record. ^.^ It happens to be right on the lower edge of the 'normal' sized horses at 1/4th scale.

Thanks, I was lucky to find it at a decent price. These Battat horses are supposed to be used for the American Girl dolls, aren't they the same scale as My Generation? Both dolls and horses?

First off, awesome horse! It's so cute! :D And great find on the price too. :D

Yup, Our Generation is Walmart's American Girl. But, while there horses are cute(and covered in a nice soft type of fur), they aren't too realistic, but they are a great size for MSD's. Here's mine with Kratos(AOD Mini).

Just kidding.

It's not small to the doll if it's a pony. For a pony it looks about right. A man's head should come to a horse's withers, right around the shoulder joint there where the neck meets the head. My horse was super short at 14 hands. From memory I'm thinking that's just under five feet tall at the withers. My dad's horse was 17 hands (just under six feet). If you're standing over a horse like in the picture it's more likely a pony. But since ponies rock I'd call it a win. Plus it's super cute! <3

man, my thrift store must suck. I never find cool stuff like that. I guess when you live in a redneck town your thrift store will be filled with redneck junk. /sigh.
