We got a Pony!

Here's a couple shots of my girls with their new toy!
Joan is up first because she's the oldest. She's wearing her very cool boots and a new dress.


Rose gets her turn next. They are arguing about what to name it. Rose wants to name it after some boy she likes called Spike and Joan thinks it needs a Lord of the Rings name like Shadowfax.


Had I been able to get the white one I wanted, it would be Shadowfax without a doubt! However, after calling every Walmart in the state, there were none to be found, so we ended up with the brown/blonde mane one. I'm thinking I'll just name him after Vin's horse from the M7 tv series: Pony.

Now I can't wait to make some fairy costumes for the girls!

Nice pony! Do his legs actually bend or are they molded that way?

They bend just a little bit, in 3 different positions, right at the knee. And he is a bit wide for my girls, but I plan to shorten the stirrups to help that look better. In the first shot, I had to bend Joan's knee way up to get her to reach the stirrup with her leg extended. I'll probably eventually make him some different tack. Or I should say her...seems to be a mare LOL!

I've been looking around for a suitable equine -- will have to go by the toy section next time we're in Wally World. Hey, I can even make my own tack -- gotta be easier to work in 1/4 scale than 1/9 or smaller.

You found one after all! She's pretty(though, I see that yours has that stare going on too...) But aren't they so cool?

I'm thinking about ways to fix that eye so it looks better. I was thinking a little bit of felt around it to make an eye socket might work. And coloring over it to make it brown. I want to style the forlock a bit and maybe make some kind of fluffy 'feathers' around the hooves.

I still wish I'd found the white one with the English saddle, but it still makes me happy they have their pony.

I got the black and white one, don't think I ever saw the white one( I did for Our Generation horse, but not the Friends Boutique one). I'm debating on fixing the eyes of mine too. Sometime it's going to get some armor and new tack, but that's way down the road.
