Ivy's Harrowing Experience (x-post at JS)

We have a new puppy. He is "labbish". We were told that the humane society wanted to name him Zen because he was so laid-back and mellow. THEY LIED!!!!

He is a little monster and has two speeds: MANIAC and UNCONSCIOUS. He sleeps with Otis the Wonder Dog (our 7 year old Labbish dog who weighs 105 pounds) and Boris, the rescue cat who prefers the dogs over the cats.

So little Lucky (which we named him because we got him on 11-11-11) had gone for a long long walk, played out in the yard with Otis for a couple of hours, eaten his breakfast, etc. He should have been tired, right? So I put him in the laundry room with Otis, which is where they sleep. Shut the doors, and went out to my studio for about a half hour.

Deceptively innocent.

I came back into the house and all was quiet...so far so good, right? So I tiptoed back to peek in the door....and saw that the door to my bedroom SOMEHOW had been opened. I had a basket of dolls in the bedroom, and guess who decided to pull them into the laundry room onto his bed and turn them into chew toys????

LUCKILY for the dog (who would be DEAD PUPPY if it were otherwise), he was more interested in the wigs than the actual dolls. He pulled off all the wig caps, and then all the wigs off the wig caps (I velcro my wigs). The only doll with any damage was my Planetdoll Tara, who has two bite marks on her head, but thankfully up under where her hair goes.

Ivy, my DIM Odelia, is okay, but a new wig might be in order.....

OMG, that would be SUCH a dead dog if one of the dolls had been chewed!

Poor Ivy - and all the other dolls as well! Nothing worse than getting potentially mauled by an overeager puppy!

Oh sweet Jesus the puppy should be counting his lucky stars. lol I'm glad the dolls survived with little damage though :roll:
I like dogs but... no... I can't have them in my house they're too chew happy >_>;

The thing is...MY DOOR WAS SECURELY SHUT. Somehow he must have kept jumping up until he accidentally got the knob to turn. Now my door has a hook and eye closure way up near the top. And all dolls have been taken out to my studio or the Doll House.
Otis the Wonder Dog chewed when he was a puppy then got over it. I could literally leave a doll standing in the middle of the floor for three hours and Otis would just walk past it and not even sniff it. So I think Otis gave me a false sense of security about dogs and dolls.

Oh I love your Planetdoll Tara! For some reason I think all Planetdoll girls look alike but your Tara is different somehow!

Thats good that your dog only went for the wigs though

Yeah, I'd have been considering puppy chow mein after that! So happy that it ended better than it COULD have!

So you CAN use puppy drool for hair gel.
