Christmas ornament shoes!

I was checking out the after Christmas sale on a toy store near where I work and I found an amazingly perfect little athletic shoe ornament that was the perfect size for my 1/4 BBBs. Well, they're just a little long, but what isn't slightly big on BBBs. They had three but one had some kind of a smudge on the side so I bought the two that didn't, took the jump rings out of the backs where they were attached to the string to hang, and cut off the cleats because they where a little harder for my Sprite to stand in and I wanted sneakers, not necessarily soccer shoes.

They look good on him! Ignore the pants, they're one of the first things I ever sewed at that scale. I'm considering redoing the cuffs, I got impatient and glued it when I made them back in '08. >_>

With the cleats. You can hardly tell they're both the same foot until you look at them from the bottom...

I had to actually go out and buy a craft knife to do this, I'd thought about getting one many times but I knew I couldn't do this one without it. I wouldn't want to use my big boxcutter on these. I had a much harder time than I expected though finding a cutting mat, Michaels only had them in scrapbooking and aside from Martha Stewart they were all for a paper cutting machine.

Not that pretty, but much flatter.

Lots of little leftover plastic dots!

You'd never know they were ornaments. XD ...I have a red Christmas sweater that was an ornament, too...now if only I could find a pair of pants or a skirt, I could have a whole ornament outfit! XD ...just none of it would match. :P

Oh, they look great! Can't believe they're both left feet, they look natural :)

I was on the hunt and sadly never found any good Christmas ornament turned doll stuff. Those shoes are amazing though! :D

Thanks! Yeah, unless you're looking at them from the bottom it's hard to tell, but because of the way they're constructed there actually is a sort of flap on what's supposed to be the 'inside' of the shoe, but it's hard to tell even in person. I didn't even notice until I'd had them home for a while and on his feet!

I'm always on the lookout for ornaments I can use for my dolls, but these were the only ones I found this year! The sweater was actually from about two years ago, I didn't find anything usable last year. The funny thing is I've been in that store several times leading up to Christmas and that was the first time I'd seen these. I probably would've bought them as soon as I saw them anyway, but at least this way I got 40% off. XD So it doesn't hurt to keep looking for a while after Christmas either.

Well, if you found a really small tree skirt you could make a skirt and it would almost be an ornament - pretty darn close LOL

Super find! They look so much like real BJD shoes.

I've found two outfits for my Jasper that were ornaments. :3
(Vine covers can also be used for clothes too sometimes.)

Neat! I've found a couple of flannel jackets that sorta fit my Ellowynes, but it's going to take some work to get them to fit better. The front is glued together so it's taking some time to figure out how best to modify them. Looks like your mods were pretty quick and easy and they turned out wonderful.
