I woke up this morning to find that Tonner sent out a newsletter announcement. Tonner Toys is releasing a new doll December 20 and preorders are starting. She's called Maudlynne Macabre and she's 15.75in/40cm tall. Her website is http://www.tonnerdoll.com/maudlynne-macabre/maudlynne-macabre She beings marketed as a "beginner collector fashion doll" and retails for 59.99$

I like her large eyes and the fact that she has ten points of articulation but she's not really grabbing me. Then again I generally prefer resin or ABS BJDs to articulated collector fasion dolls. How does she strike your fancy?

Reminds me of Emilly the Strange. I'm not sold.

I don't know how I missed the resemblance to Emily the Strange, considering my older sister loved her and I still have some merchandise. I'm really seeing it now. This doll just doesn't seem all that unique or different to me. Owner pictures make all the difference though. The company pictures are so bland.

Her eyes are really bothering me in that it looks like you can see the brush strokes. :T

That is one derpy looking face plus you can see the brush strokes...Their artist needs to do a better job.

Well as I've been stalking Ellowyne dolls on ebay for days now, I can tell you that I am not at all impressed with the artist integrity of the face-ups, particularly the eyes. The Strider I just sold was so detailed that I was taken aback to see such sloppy workmanship on the Ellowynes. Seriously, it looks like they are painted by people who hate their job ... :roll:

Okay, that confirms it for me. I thought it was just a style thing at first. Oh man >_<;
