I Found My Heads, I Think...LOL

Postby magkelly » Thu Apr 11, 2013 3:06 am

I really love these and I think they will fit on the Mirodoll 1/4 bodies fairly well. I had to email dollmore though to see if I can get the guy head blank. All I see in blanks is the girls, and I definitely want Sara, but it does mention to write in heads so I'm thinking if maybe I ask nicely they might sell me Essex as a blank head too. I've emailed to find out. I hope so. These are absolutely perfect in terms of what I'd like. Essex could have been a little bit older looking but overall this is okay and a sculpt is a sculpt. I can likely make him look a bit older with the right face up. Much more what I had in mind...

Sara is especially beautiful and I love the elegance of Essex's face.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I'm hoping they'll work anyhow. Still waiting on Dollmore to tell me if they will sell me an Essex head or not. I can get Sara, but the boy he's an issue. I don't see a listing for the boy's heads and he is listed as limited so I don't know whether I can pull this off or not. I hope so. The more I look at them the more I like them.

I finally got a message from Dollmore and it looks like maybe I can get my boy head unless they totally misunderstood what I was asking for. I'm not quite sure. They said to put both names in the comments so I did and I asked to lay-a-way them both for 6 months. But I'm not entirely sure that they got that I was asking for a fashion boy's head too. I sure hope they did. I like both but honestly it's the boy head I want the most so if they don't let me have him I'm not going to get her. It's very important to me that the two match in terms of style and look, and one without the other won't work for me. But I'm looking at them and thinking they are about perfect for those bodies and I do want them if I can get them as a pair.

(Crossing my fingers.....)

There's about a cm difference in neck size. Essex's neck size is 7cm while the mirodoll's is 6cm. Sara's is also about 1cm bigger. 6.5/5.5 in this case. I'm assuming that I'll have to put something in there to make up that cm? But that's not too bad is it? That's close enough to work?

Down this page there's a pic of Essex and Sara modeling romantically together. She has the same hair color I want to use on her. I think they are really cute together.

It looks like I can buy both of them, no problem, but they won't do a lay-a-way for them because the total isn't over $500. So I'm going to have to actually save up to get them, get one in May maybe and another later in the Summer. Which is fine. The guy I talked to said they were not limited heads though so that would be okay to do. I'm going to go for Essex first. Then Sara. By the end of summer I should have both of my BJD "models" to play with. 8-)

Yay! I'm so happy for you, magkelly-san! Dollmore really makes beautiful dolls that are mature and gorgeous! I have two and I love them to bits!

Anyway, the 1cm difference won't make any difference. Our BJD are practically ALL hybrids and even with a couple of cm difference between neck/headhole, it's not noticeable and not a big deal. The most that may happen is that the heads may be a little 'kicky' (thought I doubt it, 1cm isn't much at all) ---if so, just pad the inner lining of the head hole with a sticky back foamie piece and you're all set. It's removable but does the trick nicely when necessary. ^^
