Not Cute... Intimidating. (DZ Hid Box Opening!)

So the DZ Hid I put on layaway back in March is here! (Well, he actually came on Thursday...)
I love this little dude. When I started the layaway, I was halfway through the one for my Mo head. Then I saw this guy on the Marketplace and I just felt a draw. Good price, cool extras, nice doll. I just had a feeling. So I got him.
Fast forward to my birthday, September 27th. I got my birthday money in! : So I paid him off, bought him some eyes from MOC, and started waiting patiently. He shipped out a week later and arrived today! Along with his MOC order
He was supposed to be my sweet homunculus, Michael. But... well, he didn't quite turn out that way.
So, lo and behold, my second full doll and first box opening. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I was too excited to get out my camera, so I just used my phone (a positively ancient iPhone 3GS).
Mom brought the packages when she picked me up from school. Here they are, in the car.
Leah was asleep when I got home. Moocher likes to lay on my bed...
(Yes, that's a Strawberry Shortcake pillow. I also have a Winnie the Pooh blanket. I play with dolls, for Pete's sake!)
I roused her and we got to work.
Well, I got to work. Leah sat on the sidelines because I don't trust her with scissors.
PACKING PEANUTS!!!

This is when I started to REALLY flip out. I COULD SEE THE DOLLZONE LOGO THROUGH THE BUBBLEWRAP!
Leah recalls many a dark day and night when she was trapped in a bubblewrapped box...
One step closer...
2007 DollZone box! I like their new ones, that say "I'm here," but I'll just have to wait for a later doll to get that one...
These DollZone cushions are AMAZING. I'm going to use them for the dolls' couch cushions. One for the back, one for the seat. TASSELS.
First look! Not a mummy, but securely packaged nonetheless.
His posing is... meh. Never thought I'd say that I feel spoiled by my BBB girl's posing. But wow, double joints really make a difference. So does a three-part torso. Still! The body's super cute.
Bald! And from here on out, I'm putting velcro on my dolls' heads. IT WORKS WONDERS.
This is the point at which I was like, "MICHAEL! YOU'RE HOME!"
And this one was all, "Michael? Who is this Michael of whom you speak?"
"You! You're Michael Freeman! The cute little homunculus--"
"What? No way!"
"Of course you're not Michael..." "So, uh, who are you, then?"
"That's for me to know, and you to find out."
"Oh, you're a sassy one, aren't you?"
DollZone plate intact! I doubt Cord will have his six years from now... *snort*
Cute body!
This is how I store my eyes. Four pairs fit in one empty medicine bottle, with cotton pads in between each pair. This one has Leah's default acrylics, this boy's glass ones, Cordiel's glass ones, and my friend's doll Saul's glass defaults. Leah's currently wearing Cordiel's default eyes and this one is wearing red MOC eyes.
And this is him in his red glass eyes. They're MOC-made, deep red, 14mm. And they fit him perfectly! Every other time I've put eyes in a doll, they've struggled for proper positioning. But these just clicked. I might have to get Leah a similar pair in brown...
Standing next to Leah. Sure, he's wearing boots, but he's a good few centimeters taller than her without.
Resin color comparison to my friend's IS YoSD in yellow. The DZ boy is from before they had two NS colors, but I think his would match NS-P best.
Anyway, Leah doesn't trust this guy. Is it because he stole her first pair of boots and her first pair of pants? Or does he have darker motives...?
So, anyway, he stole Cordiel's original wig (Cordiel's new wig came today from MOC) and I asked Ven what his name should be. She came up with Sam, I supplied Samael Faym. He's a demon, former soldier, who broke from the ranks to find his human lover once more. Of course, as time moves differently on different planets and in different realms... his lover was long-dead when he arrived at their old house.
I asked Ven what she thought. "He cute," she said.
"Not cute," Sam replied, sulking. "Intimidating."
I think that about sums up his character.
