Lillycat CeriseDolls "Ombre"

I just ordered my first resin BJD, a DC Elizabeth, today. Then I saw this, and flipped. Almost anything from Lillycat's Cerisedolls is my grail doll-- I just LOVE the aesthetic of the dolls, along with the hands and bodyshape and eye creases and wide nosebridges and alsdjfkslalsfs. These dolls even come with two heads (a sleeping and an open eyed one), and these interesting fantasy ears that are reminiscent of sea nymphs or something like that. And man, planning/having a mer-thing BJD.... HRNNNGH NEED.

I am 93% sure that I will not buy this doll. I gotta pace myself, and I'm already overwhelmed with the THOUGHT of customizing the DC Elizabeth. But man, is this Ombre doll BEAUTIFUL! Are any of you planning on pre-ordering in this SHORT TIME PERIOD (only three days; 27-29), and if so, do share so that I may live vicariously through you all X_X

I'm really trying not to pre order Ombre on a layaway - only have to have the willpower for a few more hours... what's making it easier is that most of my fantasy-type dolls are YoSD or tinies - I'll have one MSD sized one when she's finished

I think she puts something in the resin though - I've kinda got addicted to Lillycat's dolls! I have one of her tinies at home, a Ninon that I've now paid off and am waiting for, and two more tinies on layaway

ETA:

I scrolled down the sales page and my willpower is weakening after I saw this pic:

Ohhhhh I love these dolls! They're so fey and melancholy. They make me thing of a faerie cast doing Les Mis or something. I want one badly, but I don't know what character I could shell with one. For now, I'm content with pics. :)

@Shortncuddly I managed to resist and not order one, although I feel terrible about it.. staring at Ombre pictures so often has made me fallen in love with the sculpt! What about you... did you break down and order one x'D?

@Jemlovecraft that would be really cool, but also a huge undertaking! But yes, I love the fey melancholy look of Ombre, and I keep thinking that the blue Ombre would pair well storywise with Soom's Picro, that little Axolotl-like girl!:

Image (I had come across this picture a while back when I first showed interest in BJDs... this was from a recast shop, before I knew that there was such a thing as recasts :( )

I feel like those two little blue girls would go together great...

BUT HEY, look at the banner I linked; THE IMAGE CHANGED. ALREADY the next pre-order is coming... and I'm balking at this. Lillycat's LYSE sculpt is coming back, which is TOTALLY my grail doll. But man, it's an SD, and even pricier than the last one.. I feel like I'll miss this opportunity as well, and weep some more

@Bionicandy - I resisted. Lyse will be even easier as she's too big. Given her price, she'll probably be available on a 4 month layaway instead of 3...

Have you seen the pic she posted on Facebook and the Flickr of some of the dolls she's taking to a convention in the States - purple Aglae and Lulus!

This was one of the things that got me tattooing and painting dolls. Even though some part of me can justify not getting one... or having got one. I have to admit I would love one of them. It is one of her first ones and has always been my favorite. it is not an ombre... but it is probably what led to her whole line of dolls. I love her. It's Sandre.

The grey one and this one here, kill me. I hope to be able to achieve that level of expression with my own. That little one packs a huge punch, and each of them is so beautiful. It is what I think of when someone says fine art doll. She is perfect! I can't wait till I have my own babies to paint!

Yeah.... I love her. Have you seen the grey one? I can show you if you like? she made a very limited number of the Sandre and only released them as artist dolls. Each one was a different color. I will probably do something similar to do test batches and find the perfect colors to make available. I am afraid of consistency so it is very important that I get it right. I mean we are starting with a pressure pot in the living room after all, LOL. I hold her as my business model.... And IOS frankly. those twins are brilliant.

I'm panicking about it! I just went through an intense second-round interview.. literally, I was essentially chain-interviewed by groups from the same company for two hours straight, being asked the same questions again and again. I hope I get it.. otherwise, if I don't got a new income flow, I can DEFINITELY NOT justify going for Lyse, even with Layaway ;_;

On your tip, I went and checked her facebook.. AHHH LOOK AT THOSE, THEY GON BE FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE. And that blue one would go perfectly with blue Ombre! Which convention is she taking them to.. she said Austin BJDC, did she mean this one http://bjdctexas.com/ ? *starts scheming on a way to make her way to texas by July*...

@Myrretah: Oh man, I HAVE seen that doll before... I love the smile in her eyes, like she calmly knows something you don't. Really cool that she inspired you to do tattoo work; JUST checked out your deviantart and I am wowed by that phoenix tattoo you did!

Her business model is inspiring to me as well.. it's really cool to see all those sculpts and think; they all came from HER, lillycat, the creator of that site! I personally love singular artists who manage to pull that off, and it sounds like a very challenging venture that I may want to attempt sometime (on a much smaller scale, of course x'D).

But wow, you're already on that path, sculpting n'all! I'd love to see the test batches you make :D
