My first 'big' girl

Postby kenaiqueen » Wed May 01, 2013 9:33 am

I received my 22" American Model Vintage basic yesterday!
This will be her home shelf space, right next to Ms. Beetlejuice (who is currently Queen Cora).

Here she is next to my most recent Ellowyne. I can't believe how much bigger she is!

I think her face is so beautiful.

I'm working on a name and shopping for fabric for her first outfit today. I'll be getting some pink stretch velvet to make a dressing gown/robe for her. After that, I'm planning a white medieval gown for her.

Any other American Model owners here?

Oh! She's beautiful!! I love her eyes!! They look like acrylic or glass eyes and not just painted! Are they? WOW!

Can't wait to see her in her medieval gown!!!!

Nice!

I have an American Model 'Sleeping Beauty' 22" doll. ^^

They are NICE dolls, aren't they?

Just an FYI, Big Kitty Collier clothing may also fit her and Big Kitty had several historical outfits that would look lovely on her if you're going in that direction. I have my big Kitty in a gown from a 20" Franklin Mint porcelain and it looks great. I believe they share shoes too so finding shoes that are made for Big Kitty might be helpful too though there are plenty of shoes out there for these. She's lovely. One of these days I want to get one myself so my Big Kitty will have a friend.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, Setsuna, she does have the inset eyes. I really prefer those over the painted eyes. I'm glad they gave her the bendy wrist, but I'm a bit disappointed that the arms just swing back and forth. I have seen your AM Aurora and I am much in envy...she's gorgeous!

Thanks for the Big Kitty hint, magkelly. I do look forward to sewing her clothes, but sometimes it's nice to have some pre-made things. So far, I don't like any of the shoes I've seen so I'll have to keep looking. I do plan to keep her in vintage outfits tho.

Have you checked the shoes from Facets by Marcia? They're really nice and fit like a glove! I bought a pair of the metallic purple Monique Gold CollectionEasy to Wear - 72mm for my Aurora and she loves them:

My favourite shop for Minifee shoes is Paul Zhangby's shoe shop on eBay. Guess what: Minifee high heel feet fit into his shoes for 22" American Model dolls! Shop till you drop!
