It is such a matter of personal taste. I like the 1/4 size for carrying around, but like the 1/3 size better to photograph.

And I have to respectfully disagree about Resinsoul and Bobobie dolls. I have all different brands from many price ranges, and for some reason I tend to play with/photograph my Resinsoul Dai and Bobobie Apollo more than all the others. For one- I think because they are less expensive I don't worry as much about taking them outside, possibly banging them up a bit, etc. My most expensive dolls (Elfdoll and Limwha) hardly ever get used because I don't want to mess them up. It isn't that BBB and Resinsoul dolls don't pose well, they just pose DIFFERENTLY. They tend to be a bit floppy, and this lets them get into very relaxed, natural positions. You can't do crazy poses with them and have them hold it, but I find them to have very natural "body language".

I have a fantasy doll Nina and I agree about what everyone else says- very nice quality dolls, and IMHO they pose well.

As far as resin dolls, in my experience, Angel of Dream poses the best. I just got a doll leaves body and am finding it poses well too. Elfdoll poses well. Worst poser also happens to be my most expensive girl- Limhwa half-elf- but they have re-engineered her body and I think she poses better now.

And I LOVE my Obitsus. If you are on the fence about size, you might try a 50 cm Obitsu- kind of halfway in between the two, and the best body for posing, period. There are times when I wish all of my dolls were vinyl. The thing I love about Obitsus is that you put them into a pose, and they hold it forever. No snapping or collapsing like you get with resin dolls.

But really- what I would suggest is that you look at lots and lots of pictures, and find a doll that speaks to you emotionally. If you have a certain price range, then just look in that range. If price is not an issue, then look at as many OWNER pictures as you can find (the database database on DoA is a good place for looking at specific dolls), and get the one that seems to speak to you on some level.

Yes, the big ones do get heavy if you are carting them around.

I have all sizes and 1/3 is definitely my favorite. I appreciate the ease of handling the smaller dolls but I like the look of the larger ones.

The 50cm obitsu is definitely awesome. After working with the heavy resin guys for so long, it's really cool to switch to something so light and posable.
