Upgrading Vargas

Postby Trethowan » Thu Jul 24, 2014 9:19 am

I bought a new body for Vargas. I'm upgrading him from six feet to ten. The plush body will be stronger and can handle the armature I bought nearly two years ago. His old body is made of ladies' stockings. The plush body will show a few more creases than the thinner stocking material but it will show fewer lumps so I think overall it's a win.

I haven't done anything with this poor guy in ages. I've got this insane stack of heads that need face-ups and I haven't even glued Jim's head cap back on. But yeah... sure, why not add more to the doll project list! haha

Well, that was fast. A certain someone took a super long nap and I was able to finish this in one sitting. (that never happens)

I took his legs out so he'd bend all the way to his hips. Attached the armature with elastic (hope it doesn't pop off) and glued the body on. I hot-glue sueded his joints while I was at it. His resin is so slick it's hard to get him to hold poses.

Ta-da! Vargas is finished. I like this better. His belly is now different from his back. I think it's a great improvement. And look! He can coil!!! <3 Gah, he's so cute.

HA!!!

Ah, I'm sorry Okami. You can see 'em all on my Facebook. It's a public account. Linkies in my sig. Maybe that will work? I don't think you have to have FB to see stuff that's posted on it publicly. (I could be wrong.)

They work on my phone. It's my computer, I already knew that. I was having issues with popups for a hot minute, so I went crazy with the custom filters on my ad blocker. I need to fix it so pictures show up from certain hosts. But Vargas looks great, and the last pic is hilarious.

Thanks guys!

I forgot to put the rattle in his tail. /sad. It was cute, but it would have been really hard to worm it all the way to the tip through all the plush. Oh well, it's not that huge of a deal. Maybe I'll sew a rattle to the tip later.
