The first Volks Dollfie Dream Sisters (DDS) have hit Yahoo Japan Auctions. With bids starting at 60,000yen and BIN prices of 110,000yen for this first full set offering, I think we'll be waiting till the blank bodies are available, hopefully at a much more reasonable 23,000-25,000yen.

But we could be seeing some reviews on DoA soon.

LInks? Pictures? Are these the same sisters as the four sisters? Are they anime faces or more realistic faces?

What was I thinking!

As seen in the Volks ad, some work was done to increase the range of motion of the elbow joint. While that is nice, I hope they addressed the relative looseness of the other joints (but I'm not holding my breath).

With the Dollfie Dream body falling into the role of expensive (60,000+ yen) renditions of popular anime characters, the DDS body will probably follow in her bigger sister's foot steps and usher in a whole new array of shorter (but no less expensive) characters.

Ah, but will she stand without needing a doll stand is the question.

The much more slender body reminds me very much of the Obitsu ball-joint body.

Not sure about the pose-ability. the arms look like they have about the same range of motion that the Obitsu 50cm girls have. The knees too have a good range of motion. Both joints are clearly a bit better than the Obitsu ball-joint limbs. The range of motion at the waist joint for the upper leg was really good too, I'm not sure how close my sliding joint Obitsu or my ball-jointed Obitsu would compare. I'll have to have a play tonight.

I can't help wondering though, whether they are worth the premium over and above the cost of an Obitsu body? With the slender abdomen and visually similar body sculpt, the major difference is now in how the soft vinyl meets at the joints. I'm not sold on that being worth all those extra yen.

Hm. Well, I'm not sold on this body. I actually think the Obitsu 50 cm is more graceful looking. I definitely do not like the elbows and wrists.
Also I am not personally a fan of anime heads, so it's just not for me. Given the choice, I'd pick a Haruka head on a 50 cm Obitsu hands down over this one.

The little blond witch is adorable, but I think I'll stick with the Obitsus unless they release a resin-white body or something as a basic option.
