B&G resin matching question

Postby ivory stardust » Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:09 pm

Not sure this is the right forum for this, if not please move it wherever it should be. Thanks! ^__^

Does anyone know what other companies have a decent resin match to the B&G Natural Yellow? I've been eyeing a LE Nailo forever, since that's the doll I need for one of my boys. But... I hate the thought of spending $600 for his fullset (can't get him non-fullset) when I don't need anything but the doll... head, really.

I've seen just his head for sale several times, for great prices. That would work really well. But I have no clue what body to get him that isn't going to clash like woah! So.... I figured I'd ask and see if anyone knew what might work.

Thanks!!

Well, I have a B&G normal yellow Aurora and I really hated the big fat man-feet they had on her. Recently I bought a pair of Angel of Dream NS Yellow feet off Ebay and the match is near perfect! I only say near because the doll is older and yellowed a bit more, but the difference is very slight - I only see it because I'm so anal and I'm looking for it :)

Beware B&G are making their dolls in environmental resin which IS much more waxy and translucent looking, making resin matching very hard to find.

Yeah, I just read that too. :( Thankfully, the heads I'm looking at were the old resin and made in 2010, so they SHOULD be ok for this.... I hope... *Crosses fingers*

Just ask before you buy :) I should think the sellers should know!
