My First Big Dollieh

I've been coveting Doll Family-H's Nangong for a while now (just ask Evelien, she knows XD). I was hoping to find something that looked like him in a smaller scale, to go with my 1/6 crew, but now that I've seen a big more of the big dolliehs and how nice they look/the awesome clothing available (and not finding anything that looks like him a smaller size), I'm kind of okay with having a large doll. Right now Doll Family is having their summer sale, so Nangong is 25% off, $292.50 instead of $390. I've been waiting for their summer sale and hoping that it would drive his price down, so of course I think this is fantastic.

But now, I'm not quite sure what to do. I'm going to SDCC, which is July 21st-25th, and the sale ends the 26th (of course). I want to save up my money for going to SDCC, since it's all the way out on the other side of the country and probably the only time I'll ever go there. So I figured I could put it on layaway. I looked at Mint on Card, but they aren't offering Nangong with faceup at the sale price. I went to Alice's Collections and they do offer layaway, but only over 3 months, and I came up with this so that I'd have enough accessories to get free shipping... and yowza. That's a lot for three months. @_@

I guess my question is: is there a better way to be going about this? Another dealer I should use? Should I skip the faceup, even though I really like the official version, and try to get someone to replicate it? (It's another $65 to get the faceup, that's why Nangong is $357.50 in the screencap.) How much is customs going to be?

I guess I'm just full of n00b questions.

I've never bought from MOC before but does the sale say anything about faceuped dolls being excluded? Are they all like that?

It might be worth it to ask if it was just a mistake? Or maybe they just didn't change the price yet? I would give them an email if it doesn't say anything about faceups being excluded (:

It says it directly on their website. :/
To qualify for this promotional offer your order must be a pre-order. Only blank dolls will receive a discount, dolls with make-up will not.
And BJD Collectasy says that all Doll Family-H dolls qualify on their promotion page, so I don't know what's up with that.

Perhaps you could contact MoC and ask about the discrepancy. I can think of no reason why she would have different sales terms listed than what the sale is supposed to be. In this case, it would only hurt her sales.

You should find someone to do the faceup. At $65 you could get a very nice custom one that replicates the factory one. BUt yes, before you order, ask MOC. Their accessories are a good price so buying $100 worth for free shipping makes a lot of sense. I did that for my DIkadoll Rena.
