I've always wanted a Volks SD16 Kira, but was broke when the Dolpa happened. But I lucked out and found a MIMB Kira in DoA! I kinda don't want to remove her from her box, I gotta put her together at least!

It's quite a packed box!

First look of her cute little face~

Oh hay, lots of doll manual.

This is one of the things I like about Volks resin. It has a certain visible depth to it. Her body looks blushed but it's not. It's the resin itself that gives off that look. I own, or have owned a wide range of dolls, from Volks to Soom, from Luts to DoD, none of them have that kind of look. The only other type of resin that gives off that look is french resin.

Ew bloomers.

Muuuuch better.

Finally got her all dressed up. :)

Ooh, she's lovely! Such a pretty, delicate faceup. Hooray for grail dolls! :D Having gotten my first Volks boy last month, I know he will not be my last...actually, I've already purchased an MSD body for a yet-to-arrive head.

Congrats!!!! She's absolutely lovely :D It must be the season for grail dolls...it's so exciting to see so many of us snagging them!

I love how you described Volks resin by the by. I was trying to articulate it the other day to a BJD friend and couldn't quite put my finger on what made it look so different from other resins. I think you hit the nail on the head :)

So my roommate was looking over my shoulder and saw the face still in the wrappings and said "That doll looks like a nun!"

Congratulations! She's beautiful!

Is she an SD 16? I have to say that Volks completely knocks it out of the park with the SD 16s and 17s. I'm glad you got her, Lou.

They sure sent along enough instructions. I've seen military model kits with fewer instruction sheets. Schpitt Function? WTH is that?????

Haha, Schpitt is the name they use for their magnets. The manuals really are a great idea, I think...other companies should offer them. They'd be very helpful for new owners.

The instructions are amusing, I like that they include them. XD
