I've been planning a couple of character dolls based on Berserk for ages now. After getting Griffith, a few months ago during Iplehouse's sale, I'd pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it would be a loooooong while before I'd be able to save up enough to get an Akando to be Guts.
BUT I just happened across an Akando over on DOA and, one very happy trade later, Guts is home!
Griffith: So...this is it?
Me: *squee-ing in the corner* Yes!! That's your Guts!
Griffith: That's supposed to be my arch nemesis?
Me: Arch nemesis...best friend...inappropriately crippling obsession...take your pick.
Griffith: Hmm...
Griffith: I don't see how anyone small enough to fit in that box could possibly challenge me...
Me: Oh come on! He's disassembled. Don't judge the man by the size of his box-you'll love him!
Griffith: Well...let's see this 'giant man' you've been swooning over for days then. And then I shall determine whether or not he is worthy of being my 'Guts.'
Me: I will...as soon as you put some clothes on! Why are you always walking around naked anyway?
Parts in a box! And-boy-was that box heavy
The first thing I unwrapped...a GIANT thigh! My eyes went a little buggy at the size of it lol
frighteningly huge chest piece!!
Goodies! That Iplehouse manual came in so handy when I strung him
*at this point my camera battery died...so I finished upwrapping the bits and pieces while it charged and wrangled Griffith into a robe
Griffith: I would really prefer not to be wearing any...wah! What's with the carnage?!
Me: That's Guts!!!!
Griffith: ...was that supposed to be a pun...?
Griffith: Well...he is rather attractive...and he's certainly large enough...
Me: Yay!
*30 minutes and a couple of pinched fingers later...all strung up!!
*happy sigh* He really is lovely. I can't wait to give him his face-up, scars etc!
Not to mention sewing some Berserk-y clothes for these boys. Having giant, muscle-y doll men hanging around my work room in the buff is starting to freak out my hubby
