weird question concerning an obitsu

Postby hlbmlp » Sat Jan 07, 2012 10:41 pm

This is an odd question but i was wondering if you can get an obitsu head to stay on an empty bust with just the neck piece. I have a 1/3 size bust and want to buy the rest of the doll, but have to do it slowly, so i figured that i'd get the head and choose what she would be like and decide if i like working with that size before investing in the entire doll. I found the bust on ebay for a couple bucks and bought it pretty much for the heck of it. I only have 1/6 size dolls and the mechanics are a bit different so i cant test this out. would anyone be willing to help?
Thanks! ~<3

The answer is yes - you can do it :) Mind you it will be a bit top heavy, but since the neck hole vinyl "clings" to the neck post its not going to just fall off or anthing like that. I've done it before when working on a faceup :)

When it comes to jury rigging a neck fixture masking tape is your friend. I've made whole neck nobs from masking tape when necessary. It can leave you with limited mobility sometimes but it will usually keep your doll's head on a neck and can easily be removed. It would be a bit more secure than just hanging it on there I'll bet until you can afford the real deal.
