And ordered my first darling doll. Contrary to all my plans, she ended up being a 48cm Obitsu from The Junky Spot. :3 Thing is, I don't have a plan for her character. :c
I bought her a lovely pair of green Obitsu eyes so that she doesn't look totally weird for now, until I can get her some eyes that suit her and a wig, and I'm going to make her a little hoodie or a dress or something out of some scrap pink fabric, so that she's not totally naked forever.
But this is where I hit a snag: what should her style be? D: I envision her as a companion for work, but we don't have a uniform, so I can't make a work uniform for her. I love cute, but beyond that, I'm stuck! I'm not even sure how I want to do her faceup! ;_; I would appreciate some advice.

Congratulations! The best advice I can give you is to not force anything. I always feel a little crazy saying this, but they have a way of telling you who they are. Just play around with her and try out some things and she'll let you know what she wants. If you're doing her face up yourself, just start doing it and see what happens. What you do will either work, or it won't and you'll wipe it and be able to go from there. Also, just because you don't have a uniform, doesn't mean she can't have one, if it would suit her. However she develops please post lots of pictures!

I like having my companion doll in coordinating outfits to mine. So, I have clothing for her in colors that go with what I wear to work. Slthough today she is wearing orange while i am wearing purple.

How awesome! Congrats on getting a Junkyspot girl. Have fun with her and experiment with different wigs and outfits.
As for face-ups, there are loads of tutorials and tips in the help section below.

Congrats on getting a Jspot kiddo. Definietly see how her style is with experimenting. Also: Socks are gonna be your best friend when it comes to sewing for her initially. Trust me a pair of stockings will be a halter top and leggings if you try hard enough.
Plus with face-up's just try and see what fits.

I greatly look forward to shopping for socks for fabric. :3
She left California early Thursday morning, and her status hasn't changed since. o3o It's been more than 24 hours. Godspeed, little dollieh, wherever you are.

Congratulations, that's lovely!
I look forward to seeing your doll in the future.
As for styling...just go with the flow, and inspiration will strike. The most important thing, though, is to just relax and have fun!

I have made a very crude mock up of my initial idea for her face-up. :3
Her eyes are the green Obitsu eyes mentioned above, and her eyebrows will likely be less red than shown here. :3 As far as an initial idea drawn up in MSPaint, though, I'm rather pleased with how it goes with her face and the shape of her body. I already love her and she hasn't arrived yet. :3
ETA: I actually don't know how big an 18mm pair of eyes will look in the Misuzu head; can anyone help me out here?
