Allison's first pictures

So as promised, pictures of my new (and first) Dollieh are here. Sadly my camera is pathetic and these were all take at night. First off is the very first picture I have of Allison, with the too big hair and dress I picked up for her (I have no idea what I was thinking when I though that DDS and Obitsu 50 were even closer to the same, the only comparison picture I've seen of them makes it fairly obvious they aren't).

Image
Cute, but the wig and too wide dress look funny.

We visited a dollieh shop where she picked out a wig that actually fit. And found this dress for her as well, it's a hair too tight and needs some ironing, but it's cute and she likes it.
Image
I'm not sure where she found the Chameleon, but didn't want to put it down for the picture.

This last one is her test fitting the test dress I sewed for her either yesterday or the day before.
Image
It's basic, but was reasonably simple and seemed like a good choice for a first attempt. I don't have a picture of her too tight sweat pants as she doesn't have a basic shirt yet. Next on my list of things to sew up is a t-shirt and maybe a sweatshirt, something more comfy for around the house.

Congrats! She's lovely - a real sweety!

(I know what you mean about Obitsu 50 clothes... MSD stuff is often the right fit - but all of the hems look weird since she's far taller than your average MSD)

She looks darling in that dress! It's actually a tight fit even on the dolls it was intended for.

The only thing I can see about your pictures that is pathetic is that there isn't enough of them. As far as photographing at night, you seem to have pretty much conquered that issue. I shoot most of my MV stuff at night. Perhaps just add a desk lamp (the elbow joint kind) so you can move it a little lower and a little more in front of your subject. With the light you are already using, this additional "front light" will fill some of the shadows in the recesses of the face. Color correction looks good for what ever light source you're using. The white background is a good choice for these simple shots as the "bounce" from the light colored background helps to fill shadows.

Allison looks great in the too big hair and too big outfit. I frequently buy clothes too big for my 50s and then take it in to fit them better. Easier to make it smaller than make it bigger.

Thanks everyone for the kind words

Definitely agree there isn't enough of them yet. ^.^ I do have a desk lamp I can use for the fill, just have to figure out how to mount it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm still on the look out for a 7/8 wig like the DDS wig she has on in that first picture. I've seen a few potentials, but need to do some research on wig styling before I try picking up anything. I was also tempted to just velcro it on... Maybe try that on the VMF50 when she arrives (which should be sometime next week, squee!) As Allison has taken a liking to the off-grey wig.

I'll probably try tailoring the too big dress once I get a few more hand made clothes worked up, nothings worst then to ruin a perfectly good dress with a beginners mistake. ^.~

Thinking of making beginners mistakes, K2!, is there a tail tutorial for your mounted tails? I saw in one picture that you posted of a lower torso bit with a tail hole, and I'm curious how you actually do the attachment. Allison's tail is currently just stuck in, being held in place by the friction between her tail, undies, and dress, which kinda seriously limits posability.
