Evelien, I’ve been using Taobaobuying.com and been pretty happy with them – I just emailed them with links to what I was considering and some questions, and they handled all the communication with the sellers for me. When I made a decision, they sent me a spreadsheeted quote. I’ve been considering using yoybuy.com next time, though, because you can estimate total costs using their estimation tool on their website – by the time I’ve got an agent to ask a million questions for me and translate the answers, I kind of feel obligated to use them, so a no obligation quote is good thing.
I feel quite envious of people in the US with dealers and with secondary market sellers for all these lovely dolls – by the time I’ve ordered from the US or Canada, in some cases I’d be paying more for postage than for the doll! When I lived in the UK, dealers sold at a huge mark up, presumably to cover customs and shipping and still make a profit so not their fault, but it really made it not worth buying from them except for things like MSC. (Oh, woe, I wish I could get MSC or GW in Australia.)
