Speaking of Space Force and comic strips: Britain had DAN DARE: PILOT OF THE FUTURE! So, that's a high enough Cool Factor right there (without even taking in to consideration Lero the Crypt) to make up for any lack of serious super-hero contenders.
The coat would look brilliant on some others, but you're very right on the narrow sleeves. Though I think a Flickr friend did manage to take it off... I'll need to look and see.

Well, the Doctor has said it can happen. We've never seen it, but they speak about it as if it is fairly common. Though apparenntly the humanoid shape - two arms, two legs, one head - is the most common throughout the universe...
