Obitsu Hybrid Pic Request

Postby CrazyYoungCatLady » Wed Sep 10, 2014 7:29 pm

I love the anime look of Obitsu doll heads, but their bodies just look chunky to me. So I was wondering if those of you with Obitsu hybrids could post pictures. I'm particularly interested in seeing how the resin colors match up with different brands. If anyone can put an Obitsu head on a Fairyland Minifee body, that would be awesome. I love the MNF bodies!

heeheehee... cutest response ever.

l think the obitsu vinyl matches up to a lot of resins out there. Plus with blushing you really can't tell even if stuff doesn't match up super well.

I hope you realize that was a bit of a joke. Some of the girls can get a bit sensitive about their weight.
I don't have many Obitsu/resin hybrids (just 1) and she isn't the brand you mentioned. But the Obitsu white skin color, which most Obitsus are (including the the Parabox 40cm to 47cms, Azone 50 & 60 cms, etc.) is a very close match to Volks Normal. Many doll companies will compare their resin colors to those of Volks so you might be able to find pictures showing other resin colors compared to the Volks colors. As Trethowan pointed out, a bit of blushing can go a long way to minimize differences in colors. Also vinyl (and resin) batches will vary slightly in color so frequently buying a body and a head separately from the same manufacturer or retailer will display a slight color difference.

Lol I didn't mean to offend your girls. Thanks for the resin match info!

I have friends with Minifee, so I will try to get a picture for you. There is a doll meet tomorrow that I might be able to do something at. Some of the heads would look too large, however the smaller heads should be fine. Did you have a particular head in mind?

I like the Parabox Pricess head. It's the last one on the page http://www.junkyspot.com/obindex.html. Thanks for your help!

this is a 60cm scale gretel head on a 60cm mirodoll body. it is NOT a resin match, i painted the head to work. however if you like the body's look, mirodol does custom match resin colours. keep in mind, it will never be perfect. as the resin mellows for any brand, the vinyl will not age the same.

I have one Obitsu and resin head hybrid. The match is not perfect and when the neck is uncovered it kinda bothers me but overall I love my girl a lot.
