Proof of concept my idea of giving him a cloth body will work, but he doesn't like this one so I'll probably make a cloth head for it and it can wear his old clothes. I used the basic idea that made his Spidey suit which is adapted form a design for a human unitard. Spent more time trying to do fingers than putting the thing together.

Meanwhile Shi Shi and I will discuss options of a more complicated cloth body or something completely different like a plushie or what not.

disclaimer- this is an old worn out stained body, I wouldn't exactly do this to a good doll

I wrapped his parts in fabric, plastic wrap or foil will work too, then in duck tape. After that I marked key places with a sharpie and cut him out of the tape along a seam line. The next step will be to make the least needed cuts to make a fabric pattern ala the fabric ball joint doll viewtopic.php?f=15&t=13371 and see what happens.

This would also work for making patterns for a Yoshida method.

Do you think you'd ever make copies of that first body to sell?

It's practically a copy of an Obitsu 60 so I don't think I can. But if I get something more original that could be different. What I did with the drafting is work the measurements from the center side seam instead of the front/back. The biggest drawback is the leg curves end up towards the inside.

The tape method is adapted from the Sempstress how to clone any doll idea.

Fork it. I thought I tossed them. This is the best I can manage at the moment, the hands are just mitten shapes that fit on the end of the arms.

NO SEAMS on the patterns, cut two of everything, the darts go in the back. I did mine out of cotton.

Well, I was meaning the one without joints. But okay!

That's the actual pattern I used for that body. The torso and leg are the big piece, the center front faces the keyboard, the dart in the back is optional. The arm is the next biggest piece, the foot is two sides and a soul.
