Minifee crazy

Postby miss_maishka » Sat May 18, 2013 5:57 am

Hi all.
Not posted in a long time, last time I was here I was waiting for My minifee chloe to get here. Well she got here at last but I was so warped up with it, that I forgot to post here about her.
Here is a link to some pics if anyone whats to see her.

You wouldn't believe the trouble I had getting her here. First she was held in customs, then parcelforce held onto her for ages. When I got the delivery date my other half took the day off work to wait in for her, she never turned up, she was returned to depot due to incorrect address. I went straight to the depot and was told to wait while they got her for me. Then I was told they couldn't find her, then they double checked and told me that it had been delivered and that someone had signed for it. They showed me the name of the person that had signed for her and it was a person I had never heard of. The woman rushed off to phone the delivery driver. At that point I went to bits, I had been depressed for a while and having my doll to look forward to was one of the few good things in my life. I know it seems silly but at that point I started crying, I thought some random person had my £400 doll and was messing with her. Lucky for me my big sister was there to calm me down and shout at the people in the office. She demanded the try again, they retyped it all into the computer and as it turned out they typed it wrong in the first place and my doll was waiting for me in the back office. I was so glad to get her I grabbed her box and clung on to it all the way home.
Anyway she is very beautiful, I am very happy with her, she has a few little file marks near her hands and she seems to be strung oddly as she always tries to go to one side. Her left leg keeps flicking into a bent position, but she is my first doll so I really didn't know what to expect. I just wish fairyland would make it clear that some of the dresses will not fit the larger chested minifees, I got the white rose dress but it just doesn't fit her at all ( waste of money). Another thing I found odd was her head size, so many people told me to go for a 6-7 for chloe, but the 7-8 fits here great and even better with a wig cap. I have 6 different 7-8 wigs and they all fit her nicely, I wonder if they have changed the sculpt some how.

On another note I am already thinking of getting my lovely Mayumi a sister. I was thinking of saving for a minifee Celine, but not sure. Is Celine a good match for Chloe? or are they to much alike? can anyone think of a better one to go with a chloe? ( btw I will go for default face up as I have done with the first one)
Also am crazy to get another Minifee A line with the same body? I just thought that then they could share and swap clothes.
Sorry for the long post please let me know your thoughts.

I'm so glad they found her! Some Minifee just do like to kick like that. I hope you post pictures here too, the ones in your link are lovely! :D

Ick. SO glad I don't have to deal with customs. Sounds like a horror to deal with! :?

Minifee have smaller heads than other MSD. Size 7/8 wigs DO fit, but they're a bit large and they slide off easily unless you've got a cap to hold them on (this is in my experience). That's why 6/7 are recommended (unless you're buying Fairyland's wigs, which are probably properly sized to fit minifee to begin with). They fit snugly and don't require any type of wig-stopper to stay on. I have two minifee - a male and a female - and they both wear 6/7 wigs from Monique and Jpopdolls, which have extra-stretchy wig caps so they fit very nicely without being TOO tight to want to snap off again.

Congrats on your Chloe! She is lovely. And yes, I think Fairyland has had issues with some of their clothes not fitting dolls properly (I recall a whole big issue with one of their fullset girls not being able to wear part of her outfit due to it being too tight). Anyway, Minifee are kind of tricky to size. Normal MSD clothes tend to be a bit large on them, so I always try to buy outfits meant for slim minis. They seem to fit better. I've also found that Luts Kid Delf clothes fit them well, as Kid Delfs are on the smaller end of the mini-sized section. And you can try Etsy. There are sellers there who make clothes sized specifically for minifee and other slim minis.

Wow thanks very much for the nice comments. I have ordered a few things from nine9 style, the boots I got from there are great so hopefully the clothes will work out. will post some pics when they get here. also ordered her a bed which should work well with her. I am hoping that I will be able to make some clothes for her myself, am currently working on a proper corset pattern for minifee. All the nice corsets I have seen tend to be for SD dolls or are not very well fitted. Got my pattern sorted I just need to put it together and see how it looks.

Glad they found her (most people I know call them Parcel Farce...)

Congrats on your first dol!! A Minifee is a great choice, I have a shushu and I love her immensely. I'm sorry you've had to go through so much to get her. I think getting another minifee wouldn't be l, I thought about it too, they can share clothes and hands! Plus you might be disappointed with other dolls after getting used to the Minifee body.
I think the celine sculpt would look like a genuine sister to your chloe girl.:-)

I have 2 MNFs, a Luts ShuShu elf on an older beauty line body and a modded Kyle on a muscular active line body. Noble, the boy, is a good poser (aside from his inherent GQ hip pop - LOL), but Keheley, my elf girl - well her body is driving me crazy. She's been restrung at least 5 times (with new elastic twice) including being kipped, sueded and wired. :? I'd switch her out with an active line body if I thought I could find one that matched her "beauty green" skin tone ..... I love her to death, or I'd have reshelled her a year ago.

Your doll is beautiful. I'm so glad that she didn't get delivered to the wrong address. I'd fall to pieces too after all that.
